Europe’s leading automobile manufacturer Volkswagen have been named as the official partners for the 4th and 5th edition of the Indian Premier League.
IPL 4 is expected to take place next year sometime in June. The players’ auction for IPL is expected to take place in the first couple of weeks of January 2011. By signing this deal with the Indian Premier League, Volkswagen has become the first German car
manufacturing company to sign a deal with IPL in the wake of the tenders floated by the BCCI inviting partners for this venture.
"We are extremely happy to commence what will certainly be a fruitful association with Volkswagen. It is appropriate that two organisations that epitomize dynamism, enterprise and excellence have joined hands," IPL chairman Chirayu Amin said.
Volkswagen’s member of the board of director, Neeraj Garg went on to say that he was extremely pleased with the alliance and it would be very beneficial for the company as well. He said that their brand stands for making ‘people’s car’.
IPL has grown year after year since its inception and now other countries and cricket boards are also in the process of making their own cricket leagues with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 starting with their Big Bash sometime soon.
IPL has proven to be a very lucrative business for the BCCI and has ensured that they gain more dominance in the world of cricket. IPL has also become a hunting ground for selectors to pick up local talent for the national team. The youngsters also get some
