Volkswagen tranny swap question. auto to manual?

Question

im thinking about buying a 99 vw golf but its an automatic.

how much would it cost me to get it swapped over to a manual?

also, if im swapping out the tranny, would it be more practical to swap out both the motor and the tranny?

You'd have to be mad, it would never work out financially viable, you'd need gearbox, preferably with engine, pedal box, front end wiring harness, dashboard, etc - just too much work, it wouldn't even be cost effective if you were given the golf for free; you'd be far better off selling it & buying a manual.

IT costs a lot of money.you have to change the transmission,  the pedals, the whole harness, the computer, odometer and change some small parts in the engine.if you want to still change to manual you would need a car for parts. can you do this? my Friend he is a mechanic he did this. it took a while.

not much, check  after market first ,if i'm  with  you  dual  trans. auto.and  manual.  my brother has dual  trans.
