The sporting director has confirmed that the accomplished players will remain with Bayer Leverkusen for the time being despite continued transfer speculation from top European clubs.
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has rubbished talks of a potential move of important players http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lars-Bender-c21663 and Andre Schurrle away from the German outfit, at least until the next season. The chief claimed that both
star players are not up for sale in the transfer market.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 coach has insisted that the BayArena side have no intention to sell the duo irrespective of the amount of money they are offered.
The 1990 World Cup winner conceded that the Bundesliga club could have profited massively by selling the talented players for around €50 million but still refused the offers as they value their players more than the cash offered.
"We could have pocketed more than €50 million for both players had we sold them, but 'no' fell easy to us," Voller was quoted as saying in an interview.
The director said that the Werkself are better off with the contribution of the duo compared to being without them for a huge chunk of money. The 52-year-old insists that the two are irreplaceable and that he does not fear having
dissatisfied players as long as they possess exceptional character.
"We will achieve more with Bender and Schurrle than without them, as they have no equivalent substitutes. I am not afraid of having disgruntled players - these guys have a top character,” he mused.
The club official reaffirmed the fans and the interested parties that both Bender and Schurrle will stay in Leverkusen and there’s no going back on that word.
"I will say it again: both of them will be staying here," the tactician finally concluded.
Bender has been rumoured to join the Bavarian giants after Athletic Bilbao’s Javi Martinez' transfer failed to materialise due to the incredible €40 million buy-out clause, which the FC Hollywood team were unwilling to pay at all
odds. Die Bayern have continued to declare their interest in the holding midfielder publicly time and time again.
Moreover, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan have joined the race to sign the striker.
