The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international claims the English Premier League club will always monitor the youngster’s progress, with the Bundesliga club rejecting a £16 million offer from the Blues in the summer
Bayer 04 Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has stressed that the German outfit has made the right call to turn down http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC’s bid for forward Andre Schurrle during the summer transfer window. The English club is still
interested in the young prodigy and will make a revised offer for his services in January.
The Blues were keen to sign the attacker, who is a very versatile player and can occupy any attacking role, with reports stating that they had a £16 million bid turned down in the summer. The German side kept their star player,
despite the tempting offer from the Premier League club.
Voller claimed that it was a good decision to not sell the midfielder, but added that Chelsea will continue their pursuit of the highly-rated starlet. He stated that a number of top European teams will be interested in him, but
Leverkusen made a fine choice by keeping him at least until the end of the current campaign.
"At his level there will be always requests, not only by Chelsea. But we take it easy. It was the right decision not to have sold Schurrle before [the] season," he added.
Moreover, defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-c9867 Carvajal has also been terrific this term. He signed for the German side from Real Madrid in the summer for around £4.1 million. Nevertheless, the La Liga club have the right to purchase him for a higher
fee every season.
"Of course it's [Carvajal's] dream to play for Real one day. But I don't think it'll happen next summer. Hopefully we will enjoy him for more time," he mused.
"With Benfica we have a tough opponent. But we want to stay in [the] competition [for] as long as possible. Dortmund has [a] chance in [the] Champions League. But my favourites are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Bayern," he finally concluded.
Voller does not expect Dani to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in the near future, even though he wants to wear Los Blancos jersey desperately.
