So all of my friends want me to try out for volley ball with them.

i really really want to but i know that i am horrible at it.

everytime the ball comes to me i duck and cover.

i dont want to be the only one who doesnt make it cause they will all be hanging out over the summer an i will be bored.

any ideas?

i know practice makes perfect but i dont have a yard or anything to practice.

should i go for the team or not?

and does anyone know if playing volleyball makes u lose weight?

  1. If you don't like even coming in contact w/ the ball, don't make things worse for yourself by practicing/playing 2-3 hours a week. And, since this is a tryout team, you'd just make yourself look worse by doing horrible at tryouts. And volleyball doesn't really make you lose weight, unless you have to run for conditioning.

If you want to lose weight over the summer, join a swim team, not a volleyball team.

  2. I would try out I mean if you don't make it than you could at least say that you tried. I think that if you practice a good serve, if you have a killer serve than they can't pass you up

  3. off coursee volleyball makess u lose weightt.. its a sport. just kep pracitcing, go to a friends yard, practice there witt them. dont be shy just because yourr not good at something. dontt duckk or cover, try to hit it. just goo, i meann justt practice witt one of your friends thatss really good, and justt keep practicing until u get it. i meann i first started to play volleyball last yearr and onoww im onee of the best. so just keep tryingg and if u have n e questions aboutt it just ask me k?

    good luckk !

  4. Hahaha, thats sounds so familiar same thing happened to me, I didn't know nothing about volley ball and I was very scare of other people to criticize me the way I hit the ball, but after I try I realize that people just play for fun..I even play for tournaments in Tulsa, ok for the sandblazer tournaments.. I still don't kwow a lot, but when I play I do it just for fun and don't ask me how but we were good..I don't longer live in Tulsa, but I wich I know people that would like to play..Just do it you would have a lots of fun...

  5. yesssss!! TRY OUT! i've played volleyball for 7 seasons now and i'm really, really into it. i can't STOP playing! yea, like any other sport, it takes practice to be better, but don't stress. every single coach i've had (out of 6 or 7) doesn't care about how you play now, they care about your potential. and don't duck and cover! go out there and smack the ball! i'm a hitter, so i know that slamming down the ball is something that feels soooo incredibly awesome! and if you're short, play back row! it's just as fun! i know it may seem like h**l having to dive and roll all over the place, but it is actually extremely fun! volleyball is the best sport there is so don't give up without even trying!
