Question:

Volley Ball tryouts?!?!?

by  |  earlier

Okay, my school has volleyball try outs on August 4th through August 6th. I played fort the school last year in 7th grade but this year our levy failed so instead of having two volley ball teams we are only having one. This means that instead of 21 or 22 girls making it only 12 will. So i need some advice on what I should do: any good exercises, drills, or ways to stand out! Thank you for any help you have!

  1. be sure the coach can see you and watch you play

    pass around the ball

    always try your hardest

have a positive attitude as well no coach likes the player who thinks they are all that

good luck at the try outs!

  2. O.K., first thing you do is not panic. Be confident but not cocky, coaches don't like that and neither does your teammates. Practice as much as you  can and going running every day. Also lift weights and practice drills such as the ladder and the t-drill.

When you go into try outs give the coach your all. Don't slack and push yourself when you get tired. It helps when you have someone with you that will push you and someone who you can push her as well without any hard feelings. Remember this: Even though you played last year, it DOES NOT GIVE YOU AN ADVANTAGE. Coaches will look for the one who works the hardest and is not afraid to be the leader and start the drills first and be the first back from the water break and ready to go.

Remember you only have a certain time frame to show the coach what your made of so don't give him/her any reason to consider the person next to any more than you.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

  3. ok first. start with a positive attitude. no thing turns off a coach more than a cocky stuck up player who thinks that they are better than everyone else. also try your hardest in any drills that you do. expect some passing setting and spiking drills. if you stay positive but not cocky and you try your absolute hardest chances are good that you will make it *always remember to not complain either lol..that wont give the coach a good feeling

have fun and i hope you make it

    good luck!

  4. Word hard. Practice alot. if u dont have no one to pass to go to a wall n work. n also passs to urself highs n lows. GOOD LUCK
