  1. practice passing hitting serving setting and defense

passing; stay low don't swim feel your platform out be read stay low & call the ball

hitting snap your wrist do approach left right left right or right left right call for the hit down and hard

  2. Doing some jumping exercises could help if you ever want to be a Power of Off-side hitter. You'd want to be able to jump high so you could reach the ball and hit it down. Practice serving, and your spike approach too, as well as the basics; bumping, setting, etc..

  3. you might want to start working out if you're not doing so yet.

then play volleyball with your friends often and you'll realize that soon you'll be pretty good. also try doing some drills like serving, spiking, setting and all of that good stuff.

    good luck :)

  4. If you have a volleyball, start practicing passing so you can get use to it. Put your hands together like a "V" palms up. Then fold your thumbs over. Now get someone to throw the ball to you. It should be a about a foot above your head, nice and soft, and thrown with two hands for more control. While you are waiting for the person to throw the ball, keep your hands apart, your knees bent, leaning forward, in other words, knees in front of toes, shoulders in front of knees and hands in front of shoulders. When you see the ball coming to you, put your hands in the"V" position, watch the ball, step forward and hit the ball on the flat part of your forearms, not your elbow, or your wrist. Your goal is to try to hit up and a little forward, and this is using more leg power than hand power, so don't swing your hands alot. The first couple days you practice passing, your arms will sting, get red, and will most likely get small purple bruises like dots. Ice your forearms for 20 minutes each day until they get better. Soon, your arms will get use to passing and it won't sting anymore. Practice passing until you can control your passes and you're use to the motion. Good luck!

  5. Do a lot of excercises with bending and reaching.  In V-Ball you have to be able to get low to dig balls, or be ready to spring up for a block.  Quick feet will help too.  Your arms will get used to hitting and receiving the ball, but you might get sore at first. Also just grab a ball and hit around with your friends for fun.  It will help develop your hand to eye cordination.

  6. what position are you trying out for...if i know that i'll try to help

  7. do you have a twin brother?

  8. Always try hard!

    (hope I helped)

  9. 1. If there are open gyms, I strongly encourage you to attend those. It will give you a chance to meet coaches, see coaching styles, and even get a chance for coaches to get to know you before actual try-outs.

    2. Make sure you have all your basics down; bumping should be a MUST. work on some setting. If you have some height, practice hitting. If your short, I suggest practice bumping more for defense.

    3. At try-outs, don't let any ball drops! Dive if you have to. This will show them you are at least determined even if you miss the ball. If your on the court, stay in ready-position. Get low. Don't swing your arms when you bump.

    4. Don't be too quiet. Make sure you get noticed..in a good way.

    any other questions...just ask.
