Volleybal fitness?

Ok I need to know what I have to do to get in shape to play volleyball. I mean stuff at home im not old enough to go to the gym except spin classes so please and dont just say it explain how to do it ......thanks

  2. i just finished playing 4 years of volleyball in high school. ill tell you some of the easy fitness drills we did. wall sits-the best shape getter. if you can wall sit for at least 5 minutes you are a god. get in a full sitting pos. with your back straight against a wall, and arms straight out.

    crunches

    pull-ups

    work on upper arm strength, buy 2 10lb weights and just left all the time, it will work, even if it sounds dumb.

  3. i would focus on stretching to optimize your extension.

    being in shape is one thing, but volleyball requires reaction and technique more so than conditioning.

    you should go over your techniques on the regular and try training that improves your footwork (speed and agility drills like cones or ladders) and hand-eye coordination (tennis, video games, anything where you look and instantly react ). also, building up your core area (stomach, lower back, aka your trunk) is essential to quicker footwork, better balance, and reaction time. good luck!

  4. In my volleyball team they make us do alot of abs.

            1. basic sit ups

            2. sit down on your bottom and lean back at about a 45 degree angle hurts after awhile

            3. push ups

            there are alot more ab work outs but i can't explain them.

  6. Okay well before my school hosted tryouts they gave us some helopful ways to get in shape.

    If you have a bowl of any kind you should place it on the floor and just jump over it in repitions of 20. You should also try to gain strength and power in your arms. Weightlifting and push ups will take care of that.. hope this helped.

  7. Well in volleyball believe it or not there is a lot of fast movement. One way that you could get in shape is do some running. And another thing that you could do is  jumping up stairs, jumping down stairs, this is called plyometrics, look this up on the Internet and lots of other exercises will come up that will also help get you in shape! Also, do wall sits, I know that they aren't too fun but it will help strengthen your legs to be in the right position for volleyball, do the wall sits for about 2 mins at a time. I hope that these tips will help you out and good luck with your volleyball!

    -Push Ups (I'm sure you know what them are)

    -Wall Sits (like pretend sitting on the wall with nothing beneath you, they really suck)

    -Running (just run a lot because that will help you get in shape)

    -Jumps (just really jumping in place)

    -Stairs (just step up and down on one stair, I duno what we did them for)
