10 ANSWERS

  1. groups, like setters or hitters

  2. WHEN I TRIED OUT EVERY YEAR THEY MADE US TRY OUT IN FRONT OF EVERY ONE ONE AT A TIME WE DID WAT WE HAD TO DO THEN GO TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE NET TO SHAG THE BALLS AND WAIT TILL RHE NEXT HIT...IF UR GOOD U SHOULDNT WORRY THOUGH...EVEN IF YOUR NOT SO GOOD THERE WILL BE WORSE.....LOL.....

  3. when you try out for volleyball...try your hardest and dont be nervous, act like you are playing by yourself. i know because i have been playing volleyball for 4 years and i am only 13..but my mom has taught me alot from her high school years that she has told me about...

  4. pass set and hit! thats all but its kinda hard!

i have played volleyball 4 a couple years

but u really need to work on serves!

  5. Well you will probably be put into groups for some things, but when I tried out, we had to do personal evaluations as well. It just depends on your coaches and how like to test your skills. So to answer your question, you will probably have to do both. But getting up in front of everyone is not as bad as it sounds....I was nervous but then I just focused all my attention on what I was doing...that I didn't even care about anything else. Half of them don't even watch you because they are too busy socializing! Good Luck! I hope you make the team. Hopefully this helped!

  6. Be confident. And you will be playing in front of many students and teachers. All you have to do is warm up a little and practice volleyball on free times or at home. And when your in the tryout, say to yourself "I can do it". And you'll do fine. Just believe in yourself, and don't be very nervous.

  7. Well, it depends on your volleyball coaches, so you're better off asking someone who was on the volleyball team. But most coaches do the same things:

They will start off with warming you up with some warmups that get you moving, like funky moves to get you stretched out.

Then they will do some basics, they will probably partner you up with someone and you guys will work on passing/bumping only. Then you'll work on setting.

After that, my coach had us do a game where two people were up on the court at once and the coach threw the ball where ever she wanted, and the two players had to touch the ball at least once, and it had to land near her or in the volleyball cart.

THENNNN they have a designated setter, msot likely the setter from varsity, and she will set the ball to you while you're in line. You will use the approach to try to hit the ball. There will be lines for outside hits and middle hits.

    That's the basics :]

But remember don't try to impress anyone, just work your hardest and try to do it right, and its okay to mess up!

    Good luck!!

  8. It depends, for school you are in groups, for club you aren't.

For school you are usually in 3 groups, one for passing, one for setting, one for hitting. The coaches see how good you are in each one, and choose the teams from skill mostly, or potential. Then you scrimmage, and do some blocking, but basically they test you on everything.

DON'T BE NERVOUS, it makes you play worse,

and be aggressive, in a scrimmage you want the ball, its your boyfriend and he's s**y and you want him. Call it too, but back off if someone else does, but be ready to help if the s***w up.

    GOOD LUCK

  9. You will be in groups. And they will want the basics. Hows your passing? Setting? Posture? Serving? stuff like that

  10. You will most likely be doing both. The coaches want to see that you will be a good team player, which is why during tryouts at least half of your time will be spent in a group setting. They also want to make sure that you have enough skill and are pretty confident (not shy) when playing the game, which is why they will have you do something in front of the group like have the team serve individually. Try not to be nervous and that will help you get through it really smoothly. Most of the first couple of practices will just be conditioning of the body and of the fundamental skillp liek bumping, serving etc... hope this helped.. good luck
