Volleyball, being moved down?

Question

i play varsity volleyball at my school. today after practice, coach asked if i would play with the JV in a few days (varsitys not playing the same day JV is.). They only have eight players, and two of them are going to be out.

I love volleyball, so i said yes. But i was wondering if this meant something? she asked one other person too.

You could be a "floater" going back and forth.

Good news is that your coach trusted you... as only a floor leader can be easily moved to a different team, while some other players even with high v-ball skill but less communication skill could only stay with the same team in order to perform well.

nah. if they sincerely dont have enough players. i was varsity baseball as a freshman, and i moved down to play in the summer because of some really good teams...
