Volleyball Canada announces the roster of Women’s National Team
The Volleyball Canada recently held the selection camp for Women’s Senior A and Development B teams of Canada.
The activity was conducted Frank Kennedy Centre in University of Manitoba from May 16-20, 2011, where athletes from various universities of Canada struggled to find a place on the National Team roster.
Finally, the selection process ended and 24-player National Team roster was revealed. After careful analysis and strict evaluation, following players settled for the team:

The players selected for Senior Team will represent the country in upcoming international events. They will be supervised by head coach, Arnd Ludwig.
The team will train throughout the summer season and qualification for 2012 London Olympic Games will be their prime goal to achieve. The Senior Team will participate in the upcoming Pan American Cup, which will be held in Mexico from July 1-9, 2011.
Likewise, the National women’s squad will take part in the NORCECA Continental Championship, which will be played in the month September. Afterwards, Team Canada will once again travel to Mexico, in order to attend the Pan-American Games in October 2011.
The biggest challenge for the team would be Olympic Qualifiers in January 2012. The team is determined to display an incredible show of volleyball and grab success in each tournament.
In addition to the Senior Team, the roster of developmental ‘B Team’ has also been finalised. Marie-Sophie Nadeau, Kelci French, Kristi Hunter, Amy Toews, Alexandra Lojen, Daphnee Andre-Morin, Alicia Perrin, Michaela, Reesor, Tesca Andrew-Wasylik, Krista
Zubick and Beth Clark have been named for the “B Team’ of Canada.
The development B Team of Canada will compete in the World Universiade Games, which will be held in coming August.
The head coach of Women’s National Volleyball Team of Canada, Arnd Ludwig shared his thoughts in the following manner.
He said, “We are very excited for both the Senior and Developmental teams this year. I am confident we have put together to best team to compete internationally this year and challenge for a spot at the Olympics.”
