Volleyball Club ODI to be held in Netherlands
It has recently been revealed that the Oost, West- en Middelbeers, will host the international youth volleyball tournament.
The tournament is scheduled to commence from May 19th and end on the May 20th of next year, as it is a two-day event. The city of Middelbeers in Netherlands will be welcoming the championship.
The aim of the tournament is to generate an awareness among the younger lot about volleyball and give them the opportunity to hone their skills by taking part in an international volleyball event. The youth of various countries gets the opportunity to compete
with the best budding volleyball players from other countries and in this way, learn a lot from others as well as from their mistakes.
The tournament is not restricted just to the boys but girls also take part in the championship. In this way, both the female and male volleyball sports benefits as potential star players develop through the program. The event targets various age groups of
youth that can generally be categorized to fall in three sections. These categories are named as First Class, A-Category and B-Category. The participants of the First Class category are those between the age group of 13-21 years. The A-Category includes those
between the age of 13-18 years whereas the last category, B-Category, includes participants that can be from 13 to 16 years of age.
The venue of the tournament is scheduled to be the Sportpark De Klep which finds itself in Middelbeers, which is present in the province of North Brabant.
The Volleyball Club ODI is a successful event of its nature as it attracts a number of people every time that it is held. Only last year, the total number of teams that took part in it were more than 170. These teams comprised of girls and boys from a total
of eight different countries of the world.
It is not only from the European countries that the participating teams come, non European teams are also eligible for taking part in the tournament. The Volleyball Club ODI will be staged for the 31st time next year in its history.
