My volleyball coach is a really cool lady. But for some strange odd reason I'm still on the bench. Their are only 10 JV players. We had a tournament today she said that everyone will have some playing time! And they did but ME! I'm a great volleyball player I'm tall and athletic. We loss every match today! we are 0-5, Varsity is 2-0 their great! After the match we was droped straight off at the High School she pulled me to the side and said that she felt bad and she didn't have enough time to put me in! I came home and did nothing but cried. My mom said she don't understand whats going on, but she said the same thing happened to Michael Jordan and they'd under estimated him and she said "Don't give up and, Don't give in"

What do you think what's going on?????????????????

Please help me!!!!!!!

  1. Well, you need to be a stand out in practice. It takes a while for a coach to "trust" a bench player enough to play them. You may also think you're a great player but your coach doesn't. So, ask her what you need to improve on to become a better player and therefore get some court time. Make sure you ask her one on one so she doesn't feel threatened...most coaches communicate better that way. Whatever she says, just go with unless it seems ubsurd. Make sure at the next practice you play "all out", show your stuff, be a communicative team player, and ask for help if you need it.

I need to laud your mom for not going ballistic and blaming the coach. She's a good mom and knows how to support her daughter but stay respectful to the coach.

  2. i play volleyball 2 and im really good but i dont get 2 play that much mabey she is just trying 2 make the other players good like you

  3. She's g*y and just want to bed you!!!!

  4. I agree with your mother

  5. my coach does the same thing with me some times. i'm a starter on my jv team, but one time she took me out of the starting games once. afterwards i asked her what her reason was and she told me that she wanted to see how i reacted on the bench and still pump up my teamates and give them advice when they're down. she's also my fastpitch softball coach. i'm a really good softball player, but she never pays me (it's a varsity team). i get played once in awhile, but she's just doing what's right for the team. one time at a huge tournament she told us that everyone would get to play. well guess what...everyone BUT me got to play. afterwards she came up to me and i asked her why everyone but me got to play. she just told me that she completely forgot. i was really disappointed...but it happens. just talk to your coach and see what's up. ask her what you're doing wrong and what you need to work on. maybe after one of your practices ask her if she can stay a little longer and coach you one on one for a few minutes and critique you.

    - i <3 vball!!

  6. My coach was an *** until I just quit one day

I dont know what his problem was, only thing I could think of was that I wasnt a size 2 and didnt make him enjoy the game...you know?

Id say tell the coach that you dont think its fair that you practice and sacrific time for her and then she benches you

  7. OK.....during practice...stand out! like Cheer ur team on have an OUTSTANDING additude...ask waht you need to do to improve and really do it! and dont be affraid to mess up  once or twice....Mistakes makes a better player...just be like this if u mess up" look to the ground close ur eyes and breath.....'' she will be watchin you! lol and she will see your additude...also..... when u do something good....dont be all like YIPPIE!!! be all like ok...u can do it even better next time! or like good job lets keep it up! or like ok......u know waht i mean? well....u also need to be a good team player! when someone does good....praise them.....and when someone messes up....still encourage them to keep going and you will be noticed and the coach will see what a good player you are! you seem like a good person!! So good luck and keep playing the best sport ever!!!!!!!!!!

  8. well...if your coach appoligized, she might actually mean it...but if you think that she is just not putting you in because she doenst want to, during practice, prove to her and to your team that you deserve to play in every single game!!!! Your coach might also be trying to push you and make you try harder...or maybe the rest of the team is just plainly better then you!

  9. your adtitude is a major part of sports. you may come off as cocky to some people. if your coach apologized she may have meant it. just stick it out and check your face during games

  10. well, at the begining of the next game, ask her if you are playing at the begining, if not, ask her why. Maybe she just hasn't gotten a chance to see what you can do.

  11. well if your coach apologized, then maybe it was an honest mistake. also, if you think you're a great player, that may or may not be true, but your attitude and effort make up a lot of that as well. and if those arent all equal, then your coach may not think your starter quality. i've been there, but once attitude gets better, you get a lot more playtime.

    hope i helped!
