Volleyball Coaches Course gets underway in Panama – Volleyball news
The Panama Volleyball Federation has joined hands with Olympic Solidarity in order to organise the historic FIVB Coaches Course in Panama City.
This is the first time in last ten years that Panama is hosting such an activity. The FIVB Level 1 Coaches Course is currently in full swing as it started off on Thursday, March 1 and it will be continued until Monday, March 12. The Central American County
Panama, which is famous for its canal that links Pacific and Atlantic oceans, has totally facilitated the participants of this training workshop.
A total of 37 coaches of both genders are attending the course. The grid of 37 coaches includes 7 women and 30 men. Most of the participants of the course are attached with different local clubs and teams within Panama.
The international volleyball governing authority, the FIVB has provided full support to Panama Volleyball Federation to conduct the operations of the course. The FIVB has sent its professional instructor Argelio Hernandez of Cuba to give training to the
attendees of the course.
This is the Level 1 FIVB Course, which will be followed by Level 2 and Level 3 courses. In the first training session, the participants are learning about basic fundamentals of the game and volleyball techniques. They are taught about how to choose players
for a good team and take maximum benefit from their skills. The current session also involves various written and practical exams. The participants are encouraged to exchange ideas and experiences, in order to improve their knowledge of the game. Most essentially,
the participants are being introduced to the present and most recent trends of the sport.
The coaches who will successfully complete the Level 1 Course they will be eligible to take part in the Level 2 Course, which will enable the participants to coach advance level teams. The FIVB Level 2 Course is scheduled to be held in Honduras from May
2-14. It will cover its length in 13 days.
In the next run, FIVB Level 3 Course will involve participants in supervising high level teams and direction of national coaches. The Level 3 Course will take place in Bahrain from June 25 to July 1.
The Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) aims to help the aspiring coaches of Level 1 Course to gain international recognition. The FIVB and Panama Volleyball Federation express high hopes about the success of Level 1 Coaches Course.
