Hey! I know that there's a 10 foot line(or attack line), but what's the other that's closer to the net called, and how far away from the center line is it? In case you don't know what one I'm talking about, it's the one that the setter's right foot is closest to in this picture:

Thanks a bunch in advance!

  1. That's just a line for another sport the only line on the volleyball court besides the out line is the 10' line...hope this helps!

  2. bbellsport is correct.  That is definitely a multi sport facility.

I think the picture you have is deceiving.  It looks like the setter is next to the net and there is a black line which looks like the center line and the red line looks about 2 to 3 feet from the centerline.

The setter is actually almost 10 feet from the centerline.  His left foot is nearly on the 10 foot line.  The black line next to them is the lines for the basketball lane.  The red line next to the setter looks like the 10 foot or 3 meter line.  If it was just a volleyball facility, there would not be that black line or those other white lines and the line that is parallel to the sideline.  The volleyball lines are red in that gym.

  3. thats just a line from the basketball court.

they have the court lines painted where there are a bunch of extra lines on the volleyball court.

so it really has nothing to do with volleyball. except confuse people. haha. hope it helps. =]

  4. 5 feet away from the net, 5 feet away from the 10 ft line. Its actually the line for the basketball court, its called the "KeY" and this particular line is not on most volleyball courts, although it is a great mark of how far away you need to be from the net.
