Volleyball Hall of Fame Ceremony (Part 1)
The latest buzz in the volleyball world is the insertion of new idols in the Hall of Fame. In this regard, the 25th Enshrinement Ceremony is scheduled to be held on October, 21st and 22nd at the Log Cabin Banquet House in
Holyoke, Mass, USA. The history will be re-written and the Volleyball Hall of Fame will enshrine the 25th class and the 100th individual during this ceremony.
The non-profitable organization by the name of Volleyball Hall of Fame was founded in 1978, in order to honour the superstars of the sport. In addition, it works for the promotion of the game throughout the world. Up till now, 88 individuals have found their
places in the prestigious Hall of Fame.
The event will be attended by the Hall of Famers 95 through 100 and a VIP reception will be held at Wistariahurst Museum on October 21. It will be followed by a public “Meet & Greet” on the next-day, while the formal induction activity will start in the
evening.
Special Features
The fabulous event of Enshrinement Ceremony will be live-broadcasted on Internet, which will provide a perfect opportunity for the international fans to catch the great moments of honour. Besides the inductees, the FIVB President Jizhong Wei will also be
attending the ceremony. The other members of the Volleyball Hall of Fame, American Volleyball CEO Doug Beal (Class of 1989), retired Volleyball Executive Director/Past-President Al Monaco (Class of 1997) from U.S., Randy Stoklos (Class of 2008), Michael O’Hara
(Class of 1989) and Marv Dunphy (Class of 1994) will also show-up at the event.
The following big-shots have been nominated for the esteemed positions in the Hall of Fame:

Shelda Bede and Adriana Behar - Brazil Gabriella Kotsis - Hungry Gabriela Perez del Solar - Peru Hubert Wagner - Poland
Shelda Bede and Adriana Behar (BRAZIL) - FEMALE BEACH VOLLEYBALL
The Brazilian hotshots Shelda Bede and Adriana Behar have been nominated for the honourable spot on account of their years’ of service in the beach volleyball. The amazing duo has proved its steel in the game of beach volleyball over the past years. The
partnership was formed in 1992 and they complimented each other in a great way. They have appeared in the international beach events more than any other women’s pair since 1993.
They have 31 FIVB international beach volleyball victories to their name. In addition, they clinched silver-medals in the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Shelda and Adriana performed exquisitely at the podium of SWATCH
FIVB. They attained the season titles six times and also the five-year run from 1997-2001. They won gold-medals in 1999 and 2001, while finishing at third place in 1997. They are well-deserved pair for the Hall of Fame spot.
Gabriella Kotsis (HUNGARY) - FEMALE INDOOR COACH
Apart from the general players’ category, Gabriella Kotsis from Hungry will also be inducted in the Volleyball Hall of Fame as an Indoor Coach. She started her career as a coach in her home country Hungry and gained international exposure due to her commitment
and hard work. Kotsis appeared on the Olympic scene as the very first female head coach and led the team to three Olympic Games, which is a record in volleyball history. She coached Hungarian squad in 1972, 1976, and 1980 Olympic Games. She set a clear direction
for the team and played an instrumental role in making Hungry’s team a better side.
Kotsis actually followed the foot-steps of Lang Ping of China, the lady who was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2002. Ping is the only other female, who led two different teams to the Olympic Games. She enabled Chinese team to reach the 1996 Olympic Games
and the U.S. team to 2008 Olympics.
