Volleyball News: Match of the Week on FIVB TV
The FIVB Volleyball World League is set to begin on May 27, 2011.
The host cities are getting ready for the upcoming sports gala, while teams are busy giving a final touch to their preparations. Likewise, the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) TV is preparing to broadcast the live action of volleyball for the
passionate fans.
The FIVB TV covered the whole campaign during the last season and grabbed much success. They are keeping the tradition alive and once again planning to run the live transmission.
In this regard, FIVB has recently announced that each week, one match will be broadcasted free for subscribers. The “Match of the Week” will allow viewers to capture the thrilling moments of the game without charge of any fee. This is extremely exciting
news for the volleyball buffs.
The host broadcasters of the FIVB World League and other associated TV channels will run the specially selected “Match of the Week,” every week. This idea was actually launched three years ago. The sole purpose of this initiative was to promote the sport
and spread volleyball in various regions that have the potential to grow.
The 2011 edition of FIVB World League is supposed to complete its run over almost seven weeks. The prelims will be covered in six weeks, while the final round will be played in the seventh week. The city of Gdansk in Poland will host the Final Round from
July 2-10. In the light of schedule set by the FIVB, the first “Match of the Week” will be aired on Saturday, May 28.
Pool ‘A’ teams, Poland and United States, will cross their ways in Lodz, Poland. The match will start at 15:00 local time.
In the next week, match between Serbia and Finland in Pool C will be featured as match of the week. The two sides will clash on June 4, while the Serbian City Belgrade will host the action. The match is scheduled to start at 18:00 local time.
Likewise, the match between Finland and Argentina will be regarded as third “Match of the Week.” Moving ahead in the fourth week, the fans will enjoy the action of two archrivals, France and Italy. French city Catania will host the match, which will start
at 18:30.
Week five will see teams from Germany and Russia in the special match. Afterwards, encounter of Poland and defending champions Brazil will be broadcasted as the “Match of the Week” in sixth week of the campaign.
