Please add that the Dr. Morgan worked for the YMCA in Holyoke, Massachusetts.  He wanted to design a game that not as strenuous as basketball.  And there were 9 on a side.  And you could "air dribble" the ball.  (Hitting the ball in the air to themselves.)  But not inside what is now the 3 meter (10 foot) line.  And they also used the "let serve" of tennis.  And the teams served for 3 outs and 9 innings, each player serving for an inning.

Today, it is very different.  The net is not 6'6" as in 1895.  It is 7'4 1/4" for women and 7' 11 5/8" for men.  There are 6 players.  You keep serving until your team loses the rally.  And while the court is only 9 meters on a side, it is just as strenuous as basketball.  The only difference is the running is longer for basketball.  No dribbling.  Only one contact with the ball unless it is hit multiple time and one attempt to play the ball or a block.
