Question:

Volleyball Rotation Help?

Volleyball rotations have me confused.

With many volleyball rotation books, they label the positions as "left back, left front, middle back, middle front, right back, and right front." Also, some books mention the setter and hitters, but where do the DS and libero come in on the rotation? Also, would somebody please send me a good diagram or explain to me the 6-2 rotation and 5-1 rotation. Finally, what position blocks where? Ex: what balls the setter blocks?

a 6-2 blocker rotation consists of main players at net yet 6-2 as in that many players away from it.

  2. THE DS HAS TO BE IN THE LINE UP  AND THE LIBERO HAS TO BE WRITTEN ON THE PAPER BUT CAN SUB ANY PLAYER OUT ON THE BACK ROW . THE DS ONLY PLAYS THE BACK ROW AND THEY COME IN TO PICK UP SPIKES AND SERVES AND THEY COVER THE HITTERS AND THE BLOCKERS.

  3. okay you have 6 positions labeled for each number in a 6-2 there are 2 setters opposite from each other. position 1 starts in the servers position in right back the right front is 2 middle front is 3 left front is 4 left back is 5 and middle back 6.. so the middle back & middle front are middle hitters and across from eachother and the libero normally subs for the middle back because normally tall people cant pass.. for some reason the setters are across from eachother at 5 and 2 and the one in back row sets and the one in 2 plays rs.. positions 1 and 4 are ohs and the one in back row plays backrow until they get up to front row where thier opposite will then play back row.. a ds is speciffically for passing so if one of the back row players is having a hard time they sub them in .. generally the oh is on the left of the libero  who is middle back.. a 5-1 is 1 setter who starts in 2 and instead of switching with their opposite they play setter the whole time and their opposite is the rs who wont set and how my team is ran by the coaches is that the oh's are primary passers and play next to the libero.. its probably confusing but if you draw out the positions on a paper it makes more sense
