I decided to play a fall sport this year and actually made a pretty good team in volleyball considering that I have never been on a team before. My skills are fine, and I can tune them single-handedly, but I need help on explaining rotations!!!!! People who know what they are talking about... Please respond!!!

  1. It all depends on the coach. After practice or before or when ever just ask them. There is no reason to be shy.

  2. hey these are the positions

    1_________5

    _____ 6_____

    2 _________4

    _____3______

    ------------------

you can do a number of drills to help the girls out like killers where the have to move their feet rapidly back and forth while bending down low on their toes and hands out in front for 5 seconds and then yell move and then they move to the next position

  3. 1   6    5

      2   3    4

    ---------------- (net)

    oh  mb   s

    o    mb   oh

the numbers on top are the set position on the court. You serve in position 1, and rotate CLOCKWISE to position 6 after the serve. A coach also may ask/signal you to serve a number spot as well (ie. serving signals are display by number of fingers, fist for spot 6)

the letters on the bottom is also positions, but more specialized. Its 2 oh (outside hitters),  2 mb (middle blockers), 1 s (setter), and 1 O (opposite.*opposite to the setter.)

    OVERLAPPING:

    1. Front Row players CAN'T overlap each other sideways.

    2. Back Row players CAN'T overlap each other sideways

3  But 1 backrow player can overlap 2 front row players, However that backrow player can't overlap the frontrow player whom is in front of them. (confused?...refer to above (spot 1 can overlap 3 and 4, but not 2)

    Good Luck!

  4. There are different rotations when it comes to volleyball. Most depend on the coach. If you need help talk to your coach after practice and have her help you out. You should never be afraid of asking for help when you need it most.

  5. What position do you play?  If you conact me with that info....I can tell you the rotations for that position.  I have played for 9 years, so you can count on it being correct.

  6. For 6 man volleyball, the rotation point is the back left position. The person rotating out leaves the back left, the person rotating in enters the front left.
