In light of the new agreement between the Molten Corporation and the Puerto Rico Volleyball Federation (FPV), Molten will be used as the official ball in all the clubs and leagues of Puerto Rico. The President
of Puerto Rico Volleyball Federation, Mr. Nelson Perez Cruz has encouraged the use of the balls made by Molten. The agreement also highlights that Molten will be working for the betterment of this sport in the island. Both organizations have joined hands in
order to promote the game throughout the country.
In this regard, an official press conference was held on 18th November, 2010 in the city of Guaynabo where the final announcement was made about the agreement. The CEO of Molten, Mr. Kiyoaki Nishihara was delighted about
the agreement. He said, “Molten is very happy with this much anticipated association with FPV, it has been quite a while since we have been looking for this union." He further added, "Molten has been trying hard for more than 10 years and finally the dream
has come true. In my opinion, the main reason for the change is an obvious one, since both associated parts have common goals and philosophies about how to support the sport of volleyball. The vision we share with FPV is to supply volleyball with the best
quality balls for all the competitions. We are both convinced that this new relationship shall be of benefit for the Puerto Rican volleyball community.”
Molten is now responsible to supply the ball to the Men’s and Women’s Superior Leagues in Puerto Rico. Molten will provide the new Flistatec (V5M5000) for the better play of Volleyball. Besides, Molten ball has been registered
for every other indoor or beach volleyball event in Puerto Rico.
The brand 'Molten' is quite popular in other federations as well. The North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) as well as the Mexican and American Federations also use Molten as their official ball.
In addition, Molten is the official ball of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Juniors. Molten will be distributed by Rothco Sports as they are the exclusive distributers of Molten in the island.  They have been delivering
Molten since 1984. Rothco has also launched a promotional campaign by the name of “Molten: control your game”.
