With the 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship starting today, Volleyball enthusiasts around the world have been telling the FIVB who they think will shine at this year's championship. The air is full of stories, wild guesses and predictions. People support
different teams and also individual players. The local and international fans have gathered in different host cities of FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan. The city of Tokyo must be echoing with the uproar of fans as the first match of the day was scheduled
to begin at 12:30 (local time).
Volleyball fans have been active on online forums. Millions of messages have popped up on the FIVB’s Twitter page during the last few days. The Twitter page of FIVB can be followed at
http://twitter.com/fivbvolleyball. It is quite interesting to read the different opinions and prophecies of people who like to form judgements about different squads. If you happen to visit the page, you’ll probably
come across a general idea that many think Brazil will make it to the top-spot this year.
Although, the Brazilian squad has never won the gold medal at FIVB World Championship, who knows, it might just be their time to shine over the horizon. The Olympic Champion, Brazil has a lot of support from the fans and the team is determined to display
incredible playing skills. Nonetheless, the American musketeers who proved to be the best team at the 2010 FIVB Grand Prix, are a potential threat for any other team in the championship.
Since Japan is hosting the prestigious event and the Twitter page is overcrowded with Japanese fans. The fans have also suggested that Japan has the competitive edge of playing at home courts and they will surely make a difference in front of local fans.
The emotional support of fans is obviously an extra edge for the team but some fans also think that the 2009 World Grand Champions Cup winners, the Italian team, are set for victory in the World Championship.
A large number of fans have given their suggestions about the potential Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the championship and different player names have been highlighted in this regard. Sheilla Castro of Brazil is topping the list as more than 40% people have
said that she will win the honour. Likewise America’s Logan Tom and Flouke Akinradewo, who showed their abilities at the FIVB Grand prix 2010, are also considered most deserving players for this title.
The heat is on and the competition is scheduled to continue till 14th November. Fans have a great chance to come up with good predictions until the victorious team is uncovered.
