  1. run

  2. i used to be in a volleyball team, the best way to practice is with someon else just keep on "passing"the ball

  3. setting:

push up against the wall, butt instead of useing ur hole hand to push urself bac, use only ur finger. this will help in strengthening ur fingers.

    diving:

go to a gym or somewhere where they have smooth floors. get down on ur knee pads and [first start out slow] DIVE to the floor. chest first, then move onto ur stomach. lift ur legs up and get ur arms to push u forwards. once u get good at this, try it standing up.

    spiking:

when u spike, use the flicking technique. keep ur hand sterdy, and flick ur wrist downward. dont forget to jump. get a wall, and practice it on there,. its like handball, but u spike instead of jusst hitting it.

    strengthening ur ankles:

[its hard to explain how u do this over a keybaord but bear with me here] ok, get on one foot. bend over so that one leg and ur hole body makes a right angle. bring ur other foot up in the air in  the other direction. kinda like so it looks like a "T".

  4. im 13 and ive been playing since i was only 3. volleyball is a quick sport so you can do some sprinting drills, you can bump a volloyball in place or bump it against a wall, set in place or against a wall, jump with your hands in a blocking position to a certain height, jump lines to strengthen your ankles, get with some friends and and play a game, practice hitting and serving, and drink TONS of WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. if ypu have a tall wall.... u can practice agility, dexterity and precision with it you just have to spike the ball to the wall, recieve it and just keep it rolling...... trust me it worked for me!! ^__^ GUDLUCK! GOD BLEZ!

  6. One excerise that we are required to do on the court is extremely good for trying out on Varsity. Start from the back court line and jog to the net running on the side lines. Then right before getting to the net jump and block. Get your hands as high and close to the net without touching. When blocking aways spread your fingers and almost touch your thumbs. This extremely helps you practice your blocking (especially if you play front row.)

After you block, dive on the floor as if you are trying to dive for a ball sliding the the front row line (Middle Position). Then get up and run to the net in front of you and spike. When practicing your spikes make sure you have good positioning. Next you will dive back the opposite sidelines you started and end with another block. Your last step is after you block run backwards to the back court line.

It may be confusing but after you read this and preform it, it will become extremely handy for you! It gets tiring but it really helps! It improves your blocking, saves, and spikes.

    Good luck trying out!

  7. Play doubles!!! It will vastly improve your all-around game and increase your ball control and agility.  Sand is best, grass is good too.

There are drills you can do alone, but I suggest using that time to do plyometrics.  Strength is a big hurdle for young players and getting stronger and faster will help you to control the ball.  Do lots of sprints and jumping drills (in sand if possible).  And don't forget to workout your arms.  They will help you to jump higher and also increase ball control as you will have more force to play the ball instead of the ball just bouncing off your arms.

  8. I played volleyball and i got a private trainer.  it really helped me get in shape and the trainer focused on my individual needs.  it is probably about $50 a session.
