I have volleyball tryouts in 2 hours. I'm really nervous. My mom just told me that i can't wear my glasses and without them on i can't see very well at all because i have myopia or something. Also i have no contacts. Which that made me more nervous. Any tips? :( Or what do you do at volleyball tryouts? Thanx :)

  1. Relax.. Confidence...

    I'm freshman, and glasses too.

    Relax... focus to your game...

Do your best in all parts...

I wear my favourite basketball jersey shorts (99), to my try outs...

I still confidence with my skills and power, come on... No worries...

    I did it, i'm team!!

    Good Luck!!

    Keep your condition!!

  2. Awww, it's okay sweetie! Just do your best, that's all you can do!!!

I hope everything works out okay...just be confident and enthusiastic!

What to expect at tryouts for 6th grade: hmm,

they'll probably have bumping, setting, spiking and underhand serving drills.

    Good luck!!

  3. As a volleyball mom (my daughter just tried out for varsity last week; we find out today), I can say that contacts are essential. My kid broke her glasses twice (elbowed in the face in basketball, and they fall off all the time) and we made the switch quick. Tell your mom that contacts would be helpful because: 1) they won't break and 2) they won't fall off when you get sweaty. If she insists on the glasses, maybe you can say then that you'll need bendable frames and non-breakable lenses for sports (they cost more so she might not like that).

For your tryout, I agree with the others. Relax, take lots of deep breaths. Also, coaches LOVE hustle! Run after every ball. Yell loudly when it comes to you. Make eye contact with the coach, the assistant coaches, and the other players, so that they can see that they have your full attention.

    Good luck! :)

  4. Well the ball is pretty big so you won't get hit in the face. You're gonna pass the ball some, serve, and do some hitting drills so you should be ok. I wore glasses for a long time and I started out without contacts too. It was a little  difficult at times but I managed. Just concentrate and you should be fine. Good Luck

  5. For my try out what we did is a bunch of drills and scrimaged a little. My coach was looking for good passers and people who listen so just make sure your teachable. As for glasses, my coach lets you have them if you attach a string to the back so they don't fall off but suggest to your mom that you need contacts. good luck!!!
