  1. Whenever my sisters (and friends) are too lazy to practice with me, I find a good spot on a concrete wall and use that to practice my spiking. Its not really a drill, but it definitely helps. And I remember on my tryouts day our ball control was one of the most critical parts that we were being judged on. And we had to do our "shuffles" drill. Where we run in place, roll on the floor (either forward, left, right, or backwards), and try to hit a spiked ball back! :]

I'm too lazy to go into detail but hopefully this helped! BYEEE!!! *glomps*

  2. Well I dont have a net either but u can use the wall as Mizu said-its a good idea! But if u can practise with someone(not use the wall)-its way better! Hey, Yammy, dont worry! Im sure u will do ur best!!! ;]

  3. ok well for bumping you should have a family member throw the ball to you and you should move you it and bump it to them...same with setting...i do this all the time...it works...for serving you should go in the street and serve it down your street and run for it...

  4. I just had tryouts friday & yesterday. We did passing drills where we have to pass up the ball to where the setter would stand. We also did serving drills where we served to zones 1,6,&5 on the volleyball court. We jumped rope for 1 min. & kept up with how many times we jumped. There was also some running involved. We ran from the 10 foot line to the center line for 30 sec & kept up with how many times we touched the floor with our hand on each line & ran from sideline to sideline. We had to run a timed 400 meter too.We also did hitting in outside, middle, & weak. The coaches kept up with our times & everything & they have some kind of point system that they use.its based on our times, passing, hitting,& serving.our score determines whether we play on junior varsity or varsity.

You could work on some passing with a friend.I wouldn't do much running or anything today b/c if your legs are sore tomorrow you probably won't do your best.Maybe some light passing or playing with some friends would probably be enough b/c you don't want to be sore tomorrow.I think that since you have been playing since 5th grade you should do fine.

Good luck =] i hope you make the team.i'm a sophmore & i made varsity this year =]

  5. just dry hitting the ball up about 30 times and play w. friends
