  1. this player you are saying is called a libreo i thinks how you spell it. anyways this player is able to switch with any1 from the back row.

  2. That person is called a Libero. They can switch in at anytime with any player in the backrow. Each team isn't required to have one--in fact many teams play without. But the libero specializes in being a good passer, and usually will take out a not-so-good passer to be in place of them. These players do not have to go through the substitution process, they can ujst go.

    Hope this helps! x3

  3. because its the libero

  4. If Volleyguy would change the word substitutions to replacements, his answer would be perfect.  The Libero REPLACES any back row player and the REPLACEMENTS do not count as substitutions.

  5. the person is called a labiro. they play only back row, they cant serve, i dont think they can :-) when they go in the game it doesnt count as a sub. they cant play front row.

they wear different color jerseys so the ref knows that your team has a labiro. hope this helps.

  6. That person is called the libero. They can be subbed into the game without the cost of a substitution for any starting player. They normally go into the back row and pass for weaker passers. They also can't set infront of the 10 foot line.

  7. they are the libero (defensive specialist)

A substitute defensive player especially adept at digging.

  8. Libero: Defense specialist, they play back line and back only, they can also spike from the back row, but they cant jump when they do it, otherwise its considered an attack, and they lose the point....they also get special priveleges when it comes to substitutions, bc they only play back row....and recently they got the ability to serve

  9. It's the libero. This person can substitute without a whistle/using up a substitution. This person CANNOT serve, this person CANNOT attack above the plane of the net and CANNOT play front row. So no back row attacks for the libero, pretty much just there for passing, subbing for the middle after they serve.

  10. The player with a different coloured jersey is called the Libero.

The libero can replace any player in the back row between rallies and before the referee blows the whistle to authorise serve.  These replacements don't count against the teams total number of subs.

The libero can NOT serve, and cannot complete an attack hit if at contact the ball is entirley above the height of the net (jumping is irrelevant).

The libero is ALLOWED to play the ball over head from in front of the 3 metre line, but the following contact cannot be an attack hit from above the height of the net.  An attack hit is any contact which directs the ball to the opponents side of the net.  In this case a setters dump or a volley from above the height of the net would also be illegal.

Edited the word substitutions with replacements for gordonmorrison ... good point.  Thanks.

IN FIVB sanctioned events, the Libero is NOT allowed to serve.  In USVBA and CVA the Libero is not allowed to serve.  Other leagues may have adapted a rule where a lIbero is allowed to serve.

  11. The libero (pronunce LEE-ber-ro ), CANNOT serve under USAV rule.  BUT... ... .. ... . ... . ..

s/he CAN serve in NCAA & this year in NFHS games.

  13. Volleyguy is also incorrect, the libero CAN serve, but only for ONE person.

  14. the person who is wearing a different uniform is called a labro. this person only plays back row and can go in and out of the game at any time. this person is usually a better passer on the team if not the best.

  15. server?

  16. that person is called the libero. they are specialized in backrow playing and can only play backrow. they are not allowed to serve but in highschool, atleast where im from, they can serve. when they need to come out you dont sub, they just run out and a new player comes it.

  17. That person is the libero.  The diffenernt uniform is used to differentiate them from the rest of the team.  It means that they are the best passer and can enter the back row at any time of the game and cant play fromt row.  Hope this helps.
