Volleyball Update: Tunisia secured 14th African Nations Championship trophy
The thrilling action of 14th African Men’s Jr. Volleyball Championship rounded off in Libya with incredible victory by Tunisia. The volleyball action continued in the African region from 1st -9th October, 2010. Tunisia paved
its way to the final by dismissing Morocco in the semi-final. The Tunes were joined by Egyptian team in the final showdown.

Match review
Tunisia overpowered their arch rivals Egypt in the final of African Nations Championship by posting 3-2 (25-16, 22-25, 25-27, 25-20, and 15-13) win. Tunisia displayed great effort and secured their eighth title.
The Tunisian team enjoyed great form in the tournament. They were gifted with the superb hitters and blockers who brought good name for the country. Tunisia opened the match with perfect serves and exhibited a game full of duty and commitment. The poised
shots and disciplined game provided them an edge over the Egyptian team. Omar Agrebi and Mohamed Ayech represented Tunisia’s team in a great way. They formed good combo and developed wonderful timing to hit the ball in right spots.
Egypt remained more defensive and didn’t try much of attacks in first set. Tunisia pushed them behind the line and didn’t allow them to raise their heads. Tunisian Brahim Besbes and Agrebi dominated the other side and confirmed their ambition for victory
in the match. They bagged quick points and swiftly brought the score to match-point. Despite of good attacks, Egypt failed to gain any status in front of Tunisian team. The score moved to the last verge and Tunisia finished the first set with a killing ace.
They claimed first set with a score of 25-16.
Egypt grasped the game plan and Tunisian approach in the game. They formulated a new strategy and started to build up better attacks through offensive combination. Mostafa Idress hit spikes with varied pace and stole points from Tunisia. Egyptians finally
found their feet in the second set with a lead of 16-14. In the next few minutes, they extended their lead to 21-17 by involving a tactical service.
Tunisia experienced a set-back on account of several service mistakes. Egypt followed the same policy of hit and run till the end of second set. They remained consistent in adding points in their score and claimed second set victory (25-22).
The superb digging a blocking of Egypt put a huge impact on Tunisian side. Egypt opened the third set with a strong impression. They easily bagged early points and built a lead of 6-4 with the help of Arabi Ben Addalla in position 4.
In the meanwhile, Tunisia fought well to regain commanding position in game but Egypt appeared firm in their shoes. Egypt moved forward with a lead of 19-16 and 20-19. Somehow, Tunisia managed to chase the score and tied the game at 24-24. The interesting
tie in the ending moments created a new twist in the game. Tunisia put more effort and tried to hit the finish line but Egypt proved to be quicker. They attacked with wing spiker Omar Hassan and Hossam Sallam to push Tunisia behind. Egypt clinched third set
victory by polling 27-25.
The two set-victories in a row put a new thrill in Egyptian squad. They had their eyes on the title trophy, which enticed them to work harder in the fourth set. Egypt led the fourth set with a lead of 8-6 through Hassan and Idress. Tunisia was putting equal
effort and score shifted up hand in hand. Ultimately, the fortunate moment came up for Tunisia and they took a lead of 16-15 after the second technical timeout. After this point, Tunisia never stopped and hit exceptional shots to bring the game to a dead-lock.
Tunisia won the fourth set by helping 25-20 and forced Egypt to play another set.
The 15-point golden set was full of suspense and uncertainty. Egypt picked up a lead of 8-6 but Tunisia promptly scored 4 consecutive points and took the score to 10-12. Tunisia whiplashed Egypt with more sizzling shots and clinched final set with 15-13
points. Tunisia rewritten the history once again and got their hands on the title trophy.
