I wanna try out volleyball, but I don't really have that much experience. Does anyone know any good source to learn about volleyball, rules, and techniques?

  1. I play for the Laguna Beach High School. You want to keep your butt low to the floor. Put both of your hands in front of you and relax them. By doing that you can be able to shuffle any way and then hit the ball. You have to practice serving. If your gym is square there is a line that you have to stand. When your serving pull your hand back throw the ball a little and then just use all your force and hit. Practice bumping and spiking. Spiking is a little harder. You have to get enough air to hit it. When you practice enough you can get really good. Thats what I did.

    Good Luck

  2. a lot of churches and parishes have small beginner teams where you learn the fundamentals but you also get to play in games. those really helped me! also another thing to do is to go to (maybe one of your friends?) a practice and watch how other people who are playing are passing or hitting. you could watch them and then ask the coach during water breaks or after the practice and ask if they could show you a little bit.

  3. need help with volly ball help

  4. dude

if live near a beach, go out this summer and get whooped on for the entire two months.

Two months of this is all it takes...I did it and I was coaching in high school after only being introduced to the sport a year and a half earlier.

  5. take a ton of camps right before tryouts. at the tryouts remember to call for the ball and move for it. Never let a ball drop between you and someone else, thats the worst thing you can do. good luck!

  6. ok first of all u need to decide if u want to b-a setter or a hitter- for either of these positions u need to first learn how to bump i would recomend bumping back and forth with another girl on the volleyball team the most important factor of volleyball is CONTROL!!! then if u want to be a setter u need to work on getting "soft hands" u need to make sure u catch the ball and push it up instead of just smacking it up-that will also be called illegal by the judges- a way u can practice setting is by lifting it up as high as u can over ur head then see how far u can u set then u need to set it as lightly as u can-this will help with control- also u can set it back and forth with someone else on the volleyball tam butif u cant pracice with anyone then set it up against a wall also u can practice setting with a basketball for about five minutes but w/e u do dont practice with a basketball rite b4 a game because ur hands will become accustomed to the basketball and u wont be able to control the volleyball in a game BUT if u want to be a hitter u need to do work on arm strength u can do push ups and lift weights and all that other good stuff :)  this may sound like a stupid excercise but trust me it works hang a towel under something sturdy an make sure the towel wont come out then hit the towel as fast as u can and snap ur wrist while u do it this will help with bot hitting and serving-serving takes strength but the ball will have more power behind it the faster u hit it and mke sure u snap r wrists that is a very important part to serving and spiking

personally im a setter im not really short but since im only 13 and the youngest person on the team i short to everyone else =] but if ur taller i would try hitting but if u dont like it try setting

my ast advice is just try ur hardest have fun and dont get frustrated ive oy played for 2 years and last year let me tell i sucked really bad but if u dont give up u could just find out that ur actually really good and u love volleyball so yea good luck and dont be nervous im sure ull do great

  7. hey the way to learn any sport is by trying it and the movement you get into the court or go near n court n observe people playing u wil get to kno bout the rules n regulations n moreover if u meant any books or online sources?forget bout playing k go to a person who has the spirit of fire for the sport, and u will definetly undrstand the game better you need somebody in or in gud touch with the game's proceedings to help you out since the written rules keep changing every now n then.u will find somebody to help if u r serious bout it.let me giv you the basic things that are required to get into the court---There are 6 players on both sides or two for beach volley ball.

-One side is only allowed 3 touches to send it to the other court in one turn.

-You have three main types of players 1.Spiker(attacker). 2.Setter(booster) 3.Libro(one excellent in defence)

-You have two ways of lifting the ball 1.Fingering. 2.Under Arm.

k now dnt expect to explain how are those played n all however if you do want to learn come over any time i wil be more than glad. k tell you onething once you get into this sport you will play this all through your life k have fun all the best.

  8. The best way to learn is through practice, practice, and more practice.  Look for pick-up games or even clinics in your community.  These are the best way to practice if you don't have six good players to assist you.  :)  Also, make sure to know the rules and do plenty of stretching and drinking water.  Volleyball is a foundation sport-the more you have core foundation passes, the easier it will become.

  9. bumping, setting, spiking, passing, running, etc. etc.
