  1. Serious, motivated and a little shy.  If someone is loud but lacks motivation, then it is a bit doubtful that their over exuberance is motivating others.  I have coached many players of both types, and often it was the serious, motivated yet quiet type who provided more incentive for teammates to play hard based on their own dedication.  That is not to say that a loud, motivated player is not of vital importance to a team.  There are different types of leaders.  These are just two.

  2. Who's to say an individaul can't be serious and motivated, yet comfortable enough to push her team-mates?

I have both players on my team currently, and I want the one who wants to learn more. If you play for me you're playing to learn, so I want the one who wants to learn the most, not the one who's there for her own social affairs.

Ideally I want the girl who's motivated and knows when to be outgoing

  3. Coaches like players who are:

    - Loud.  If you are cheering for every little thing, and for every person whether it's just to say, "Nice pass!" or "Nice try!" the coaches eat that up.

    - Leadership.  Always try to go first in whatever drill it is.  Don't be shy to volunteer and get in front of the line.

    - Hustle.  If you have a red face, it might as well be a target.  Coaches are like kings.  They love to see their servants so eager to please them.  If you please them, you please yourself.

    - Proper attire.  Make sure you are dressed the right way to impress a coach.  s***w looking pretty.  What you really need to do is get all the hair out of your face, wear no baggy clothes, and forget about makeup.  Just go there and be ready to sweat.

  4. I would like to have both on the team.

The Shy Player would do all the dirty work, and the Loud Player could actually help me motivate other players, and motivate him/herself if "lacks some motivation".

When there is only one spot, I would definitely take the serious player over others.
