okay so im going to start playing volleyball for the second year in a row. and im not the most fit person...last year, in the summer conditioning, we had to do sidelines which are either running,sprinting,jogging,skipping,etc.f... sideline to sideline forever. and then we had to do this thing, its called the indian run or shuttle run and that is when everyone gets in a single file line and we start jogging around the gym or wherever (we did it in the gym) and the person at the very back of the line sprints up to the front of the line while everyone is still jogging...and sometimes we had about 25 people in a 100degree gym....and also,i started my period after the season was done last year, and now im scared to do it when im on my period...

my questions are

would you be scared to go to conditioning like this, and what kind of thing should i wear if im on "it".(pad or tampon) and give me advice pleaseeee :]] thanks so much <333

  1. haha well with your period problem defintely wear a tampon! You'll be able to run around free and not have to worry about making sure the pad is in place.

And when does your volleyball season start>??? August right?? Not sure if you are doing club or what. but my advise is to get in the gym and work your booty off till you are in great shape. I have been going to the gym 3-4 days per week, for the last two months and baby..it helps..

Running like that in 100 degree gym is tough to do...just make sure you are well hyderated. And if you can, eat a power bar before conditioning and that will helps also a ton!..

good luck with the conditioning. when you are out of shape, youll dred it. but when you are in shape, it wont be that big of a problem...so start working out now and youll be very well prepared. If you have any other questions..you can email me

i would love to give you advice.. Again, good luck!!!

  2. OMG I FEEL UR PAIN. SOME TIMES CONDITIONING ISNT SO HARD BUT WHEN UR ON "IT" IT IS. ID SAY DOUBLE PROTECTION. JUST TO B ON THE SAFE SIDE. I LOVE TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL AND IM SURE YOU DO TOO, SO DONT LET THAT EFFECT U. TRY DIFFERENT WAYS TO HANDLE IT THAT WORK FOR U! PLAY HARD AND FOREVER!!! KAT LOVES VOLLEYBALL!

PS BBJH B TEAM UNDIFEATED 2008! YAHOOOO!

  3. hellz no!!!!! i do it all the time!!! im 15 and started my period at 12 and ive been playing volleyball since i was 9!!!! and what condtioning you have to do isnt that bad!! one practice my whole team had to do about 40 suisides and when you got to the line you had to dive on the line and i was on my period its really not that hard of course it was pretty weird feeling but its something you have to do if you play volleyball!!! DONT BE SCARED!!!! if you love volleyball you wouldnt be scared!!! i played when all the ligiments in my foot were torn and i wasnt suppose to

  4. i dont think i would be scared to do conditioning like this on my period.

i play volleyball too, and playing on your period suckssss.

if you wear a big pad, it feels like its going up your butt, and its horrible.

especially sweating in pads, that sucks too.

wear good tampon and maybe a panty liner.

sorry if that was a little graphic.

    hope it helped though.

  5. well conditioning for volleyball is pretty pointless. If your team is conditioning your coach probably is not the smartest person. Just hit the treadmill or run on your own. set up cones and do short sprints to make your time faster

  6. I've done summer conditioning since I was ten. I'm a sophomore in high school now and have been on Varsity for 2 years. My gym doesn't have air conditioning either. So wear something you can stay cool in....like black spandex and a wife beater. I make mine really fun by wearing a colored beater like a hot pink or something so that way i kinda brighten things up and it gets you noticed by other coaches if they are there.

For the pad or tampon thing wear what makes you the most comfortable. Consider the tampon though because since you will be wearing spandex..you don't want it to look like yo have a diaper on lol :]

  7. TAMPON NO DOUBT!

Take my advice please I know from expierience. Pads will be extremely uncomfortable, plus there is a better chance of a leak. Tampons you don't feel, and usually when you work out your flow isn't that heavy. If its really heavy I suggest both.

  8. ok i have been playing select volleyball for 5 years and now am a freshman in highschool, and was on varsity. I know what hard conditioning is like. Turst me. We did the exact same stuff as you did plus tons more. It is hard at first but soon you will get used to it. I wore a pad when I did. Idk why it just worked better. And idk what the guy ahead of me was saying about conditionign nto needed, but training and conditioning is definanlty needed. If you want to becoome a better volleyball player it is only it your best intrest to condition. You nee to condition as a volleyball player, trust me it will help yoiu in the long run. All you wear is t-shirt and shorts, and pony tail, bring water and stuff like that.;. It will be fine. You will do great, just give 110% through everything---coaches love it---TRUST ME!!! If you have any more questions feel free to ask I love answering volleyball questions!! Good Luck Girl!!!

  9. tampon, and conditioning isnt pointless, it helps a lottt. before our school did it, we werent an undefeated team. now we've been it for 2 years. it helps you get in shape for volleyball more than really practicing getting better at volleyball but my school did both but tampons will help, dont be scared. tampons last longer too - 8 hours you wont have to change your pad ever 3-4 hours, plus theyre nasty when youre sweating and might start to smell, and they feel like a diaper when youre doing stuff like that. so tampons would deff feel better and work better in that situation

  10. sweetie i do conditioning like this. it gets easier the more u get into shapee. trust me.

my school has 3 gyms and none, have an a/c.. and it blows.. neither do the locker rooms and i live in san antonio texas!! it is superrrrrr humid and extremely hot here in the summer (when the camps are) we do those exact things..

and dont be scared about your period.. every girl has them. I promise it wont affect you. use a tampon. they arent gross lol.. and you will feel better.. promise!!

    good luck hunn

  11. Don't be scared.

My JV volleyball and tennis coach is pretty tough, AND a BIG fan of conditioning.

It may look intimidationg or impossible at first but when it comes down to it, you have to want it. And you'll be fine. Bring lots of whater or gatorade.

    MIND OVER MATTER.

when we're doing squats or something for a very long time, we sing row row row your boat =)

or i close my eyes and tell myself to push through for just a little longer. i know i'd be dissapointed in myself if i stopped.
