  1. Wall sits are always helpful. Squats too. You could always come up with some kind punishment for standing up straight, like 20 push ups or 5 laps.

  2. I have been on my schools traveling team for two years now and this year we are first in the district.  I have to tell you about our drill that lead us to or victory over our rivals whom we haven't beat since 2001!

    Queen Of The Court:

Have three players go on one side of the net. On the other side have three lines of girls. Have the first person of every line step forward and lay on the ground. Make sure everyone is ready, you are to have a ball in your hands, I want you to hit the ball and bounce it on the ground to the players laying down. They are to get up as fast as they can and get a nice clean volley with three hits.If they do this and score on the other team of three, they become the queens of the court.

My coach would tell us touch down butt down. We would squat in ready position and touch the ground and stay there or we would be in trouble. The phrase says it all.

  3. This drill is called "bulldog" are the coach stands on a stand/stool and spikes the ball to the left back side of the court and the player starts in the middle and runs to the left side where you spiked the ball if they get it they move to the right side of the court which you spike the next ball that is if they make it other wise you have to repeat the left side if they get it. ( there is 3 ppl on a team) - which of that.. they have to 1 of the 2 players that is not bumping the ball has to catch it before they, than once they pass the right side of the court than you just give them a tip.

*this makes them gain more speed and get the ball faster

    && To make them low..

Tell them to take 1 of there knee pads and put it behind there neck and have them  bumb the ball with a partner and make sure it doesn't fall off..

  5. well,

i'm in 8th grade club volleyball and our coach would always make sure that our hand could touch the floor and if we couldnt, she would make us run and or do 10 10 and 10. which is 10 push ups, 10 sit ups, and 10 jumping jacks. i know it helped me because our team won nationals bacause of our libero.

    hope this helps!

    (e-mail e if it does)

  6. This excercise is fun for the kids to do... we did this in our last season to help us get low and move quicker.

Start out with 10 balls on the ground at the center of the net... one player is at the center of the court towards the end line and have them get down low. Have the rest of the players around the outside of the court to shag the balls. Start rolling each ball in every direction... right after she touches the ball roll the other ball in the other direction and have her touch it then roll the other ball in the opposite direction and have her touch it. The concept of the game is to touch each ball before it rolls out of the court. Have your players do 2-3 laps and after each lap roll them faster.

BTW, a good punishment to keep them from standing straight up is by doing this...

have all your players stand at the net and have them jump up and down just like blocking for 30 seconds (really fast but they have to look like theyre trying hard, if they dont look like theyre trying hard make them do it 10 seconds longer)... then when you say "go!" have them run from the net to the end line and back again as fast as they can and make them do the blocking stuff again for about 30 seconds... then make them run from the end line and back... do it for however long you want them to.

TRUST ME, these will discipline them harder. The head coach at my highschool made us run these for 3 minutes and we never wanted to do that again... so we stayed disciplined for the rest of the season.  All because a few people didnt hustle through the drill...

  7. I'm in volleyball and if we don't get low our coach makes us get in lines then in the ready position and then shuffle back and fourth and sometimes she says block and we go up and block, or set, hit, or sometimes she throws a free ball at us. I hope it helps you because I know that when you do this drill you get tired, and then you will never stand up again! If that doesn't work my coach also ties our hands to our feet when we were in ready position to make us stay there. We got used to being in ready position that we stayed like that even when there was no tape. I hope it helps because it sure helped my team and I.

  8. SUICIDES IF THEY DON'T LISTEN WHEN YOU TELL THEM TO GET LOW. SHUFFLE WHILE BEING IN READY POSITION(LOW) TO THE NET.PUSH UPS AND SIT UPS ARE ALSO GOOD IF THEY DON'T LISTEN.

  9. THat's funny I'm in *th grade and our coach made us run 5 laps every time we stood up stait while waiting for the ball we also had to do a drill called NAVY which is you start in a low position then you act like your jumping for a block, then go down in the low position again and lask do down on your stumic. It works very well with a wistle
