  1. There is the front row and the back row.

You have the setter, the outside (or left side or power) hitter, the middle hitter, the opposite ( or right side or weak side) hitter, the defensive specialist and the Libero.

It is possible to [lose the rally] for reaching over the net to play the ball.  That is the most likely result for reaching over the net to play the ball.  However, you can score a point if you have one of the exceptions to the reaching over the net rule.

  2. there are two rows in volleyball, front and back. the big difference is that the back row cannot jump to attack or block the ball in front of the ten foot line. there are 5 primary positions in volleyball: outside hitter, opposite hitter, middle blocker, setter and libero. there are also a few "specialist" positions such as defensive specialist, serving specialist and blocking specialist. the only time that it is legal to score a point  by reaching over is on a block where the ball is being played over the net. it is illegal to block a set.

  3. how many rows? uhh 3 in front and 3 in back, so 2 rows? there are i believe 5 positions: quick hittler, outside hitter, oppposite hitter, defense specialist, and setter. If you reach over the net then it is a turn over. Its called "reaching over".

  4. 2 rows of 3 players.

Positions really depend on what play. In a 6-2 formation, you have 2 outside hitters, 2 setters(the 2nd setter in the front row acts as a hitter unless needed for back up setting), and 2 middles.

In a 5-2 formation, you can have:

    1 Setter

    2 Outsides

    2 Middles

    2 Right Sides

    1 Defensive Specialist(Optional?)

    1 Libero(Only plays backrow)

You can't block or attack on a serve over the net.

  5. 3 people in 2 rows

  6. The positions vary during the game - like, you may be in semicircle formation to receive the serve, and you move dynamically according to what is happening in the game.  Basically you learn to cover each other, and know who has first option to cover for who, so that you avoid knocking into each other, for the same ball. When you lose a point, you should know who was suppose to cover for it... so that next time, he/she does... cover properly.

You can possibly score a point by reaching over the net, as long as the ball was directly over the net, or was on your side, when you first made contact with the ball. ie. by completing your motion - spike or block - you end up on the other side of the net. Of course, there has to be no net contact with your hands at any time.

  7. 1.front row

    2. back row 3 in each

    positions

    2 outsides

    1 or 2 setters depends on if you run a 5-1 or a 6-2

    1 or 2 rightsides ^

    2 middles

    1 libero

you can also have a defensive specialist

unless you are penetrating (sp?) over the net while you are blocking it is illegal to reach over the net and play the ball

  8. you stand in 2 rows. first row closest to the net has left hitter, front middle, and setter. back row has left back, middle, right back. i know for sure you cannot go UNDER the net, but i dont know if you are allowed to go over.

  9. There are two rows. The positions are setter, middle blocker, outside hitter, rightside hitter, defensive specialist, and libero. If you are blocking and you press over the net but do not interfere with the other team then you should not be called for it.
