Volleyball latest: Insight of Japan’s head coach about FIVB World Championship
The city of blinding lights, Japan is hosting the FIVB Women’s World Championship from October 29 to November 14, 2010. Five different cities of Japan have been set up to organise the matches. The wonderful event will be attended by 24 women’s teams from
around the world. Being the host nation, Japan has big responsibilities to deal with. The Japanese team will be playing in front of the local fans who would like their team to be among the best squads.
No doubt that team will get benefit of the local crowd and familiar courts, but still the determination and high-class performance will be the key to success. The head coach of Japan’s team, Masayoshi Manabe has put so much effort in preparing the team to
tackle the strong teams of the world. The coach believes that the host nation is ready to fight for better status and the team will surely bring some royals to the nation. They are determined to finish at the podium this year.
Manabe is fully aware of the level of competency as internationally renowned teams will be battling in the court. However, he expressed hope that home-team will be playing with great confidence. He told a press conference on Tuesday that, “There will be
tough games but we will do our best. Our preparations have been based around the team ethic and around establishing our own identity while the players themselves have built up their confidence by beating strong teams like Italy and Brazil”.
The Japanese side will be playing with younger players such as Saori Sakoda and Yukiko Ebata who have got enough potential to display a great show. Manabe said, “I look forward to seeing them play”. The coach has pushed the players to avail their chances
and amaze the world with their skill-set and talent. There is another player, Megumi Kurihara who has recently recovered from knee-injury. Manabe said that Japan’s team will get full advantage of Megumi. The rest of the team is also pumped up to take the tournament
by storm.
Japan will be playing under the tag of Pool A and teams from Peru, Costa Rica, Serbia, Poland and Algeria will accompany the home-team. Japan is scheduled to take on Poland in the first match of the championship on 29th October, 2010. The Yoyogi
National Stadium in Tokyo will greet the teams for the opening match of the tournament.
