Volleyball latest: The final countdown for the Club World Championship
Finally the time has come that aspiring club volleyball teams from different continents will embark on their quest for the crown at 2010 FIVB Club World Championship in Doha, Qatar. The clock is ticking down and there is less than one hour time in the start
of championship. A total of fourteen teams in both categories of men and women will fight for supremacy. In the men’s division, there are eight teams, which have been divided into two pools:
Pool A

Paykan – Iran Al-Arabi Doha - Qatar PGE Skra Belchatow - Poland Al Alhi - Saudi Arab
Pool B

Dynamo Moscow - Russia Paul Mitchell - United States Drean Bolivar - Argentina Trentino BetClic - Italy
Likewise six women’s team will also be playing at the Club World Championship. This is the first time that FIVB has pleasantly decided to feature the women’s competitions at the Club World Championship. The capital city Doha is hosting the event for a second
year in row but last year’s championship was only featured men’s competitions.
The tournament will be opened with the first match between America’s Paul Mitchell and Argentinean Brean Bolivar at 09:00 AM (local time). Both these teams are included in the Pool B. Later on, the home team from Qatar, the Al-Arabi Doha will strike with
Saudi-Arab’s Al Alhi at 04:00 PM (local time). Al-Gharafa sports hall will host all the matches of Club World Championship. There is great hustle and bustle in the city right now. The respective teams and large number of fans are awaiting the start of exciting
event.
In the meantime, the FIVB has released an online Media Guide on its official website. The Media Guide has been launched in order to facilitate the fans. All the relative information about matches, teams and players can be obtained from this Guide. The online
Media Guide will also update the live score of matches, marking the first time that FIVB has added this feature on their website. It will surely help the volleyball enthusiasts to access the key information of the on-going competitions. The volleyball action
of Club World Championship will be continued until 21st December, 2010.
