  1. american, club, open

  2. At the girl's JOVC this week, the divisions are Open, National and American in that order of toughness.  The Open is the top teams with the National being the middle and the American being the bottom level.  (And being the "bottom" level in the national championships does not mean that the teams were not good.  The American teams had to place well in regional or national qualifiers.)

At the boy's JOVC this week, the divisions are Open and Club.  The Open is the top division.

Many of the qualifiers have the Open and Club divisions.  The top teams in the qualifiers get bids as well as some bids going to the USAV regions.  In our region, the winner of our girl's regional championships gets a National bid with the several more American bids in each age group.  The Club division at the qualifiers is broken down into the National and American levels.  It is called the Club-National and Club-American divisions.  The National bid in the qualifiers goes to the team finishing first in the club division and the American bid goes to the team finishing second or more depending on the size of the qualifier.  There may be up to 3 American bids at a qualifier.

Feel free to check out the pdf manual for JO's in the link below.  It contains more information than you would ever want.

  3. Open (hardest)

    Club (second-hardest)

    American (easiest)

sometimes club is referred to as National, though.

  4. 1. Open- You must qualify for it.  You must play in a USAV certified tournament that rewards bids for placing high.  Your team may accept or decline the bid.

    2. American- It is a middle division that is only in girls volleyball because of how many more girls teams there are.  Better than club or National, but not as difficult to play in as Open.

    3. National/Club- National is the girls version of club, and club is the boys version of American.  These allow any team to play if they are a USAV recognized team.

Check advancedeventsystems.com for confirmation.  It lists oPen as the highest ranked.
