Question:

Volleyball overhand serve tips?

When I'm doing my overhand serve it feels like I'm pushing it. I'm left handed but I use my right hand during sports and I don't use my fist when I serve. So any ideas in correcting my errors?

Thanks for your help.

  1. well when i serve over handed I eye the ball start with the ball a little above hip level make sure your right hand is behind your ear throw the ball about a foot above your head and snap your right hand to were your wrist hits around the middle of the ball and hit with full force if you have trouble hitting over the net if you have trouble hitting it to low toss the ball higher and make sure you don't bring your hand down on top of the ball and you just can't do it try with your left hand or under handed, best of lucky

  2. First your feet should look like your standing on the arrows a clock with your left on the 12 and your right on the 2. They should be about 6 inches apart. Your toss is the most important part of your serve. Make sure it lands right in front of you every time, and the height should about the length of your arm. when your right arm goes back to hit the ball make sure your elbow is above your ear. Also remember to make sure your arm follows through straight. If you have trouble getting the ball over the net then remember to shift your weight.  Hope these tips help!

  3. Do what they said, plus on the toss make sure that the ball doesn't get too far behind your head, in which case u will probably give them a candy serve, and make sure it isn't too far out in front of u, in which case u will probably serve it into the net.
