  1. Do not worry my friend decided to go into my school's drill team for a year and then she came back and she was a great player.

Practice as much as possible, that is very important the more touches you have with the ball the more experience you will have. OK rotations, your team looses serve and win it back you rotate so every time you loose serve and get it back rotate to the left. The games go to 25 and in high school there are 3 out of 5 games and some 2 out of 3 games.

Positions on the court, 1 is right back,  2 is right front,  3 is middle (front),  4 is left front,  5 is left back, and 6 is middle back. That is the basic areas now some coaches will make their own positions.

    Good luck!

  2. Typical game goes to 15 with winning by 2

High school varsity will be different than most you played before. You will probably play 5-1 or 6-2 rotations.

Depending on the position the rotation will differ. You may be a middle hitter. If you are in the front line you aways rotate to the center immediately after the serve. Depending on the setters direction of movement you will want to be fairly close proximaty to him/her for the quick 1 ball, 2 ball sets.

5-1 meaning 1 setter. The setter will ALWAYS move to the front line directly to either side of the middle hitter.

If you are a hitter an in the front row you will almost always rotate to the strong side/weakside/center depending on what you are best at.

When rotating NEVER cross the other player until after the serve. You can stand right next to each other just do cross.

6-2 would be two setters - typically opposite and while they are on the back line.

I can't tell you how to approach to hitting. Typically High out sets you don't move until the ball is at peak. But you have to play around with and work directly with the setter.

Middle hitters for the 1 ball sets starts the approach even before the ball reaches setter. This fakes out the other team. Very tiring though. VERY QUICK

Brushing up: Have someone throwing the ball to you in different directions and you pass back to them. Pepper is always good. To players that play passing, setting, hitting back and forth.

Left Front Right Handed is Strong side

Right front Right Handed is Weak Side.

Middle back is cover by the best passer

If your rotation has you in the back row - You can not hit (Attack at the net) You must jump behind the 10' line.

If you are on strong side, and the set goes to weak side, you move in to cover the ball just incase it is blocked.

I think I got most of the basics. Any question let me know

    Good luck

Sorry I was in hurry and spell check didn't work

  3. ok well you rotate after you get the ball back from your opponent and you play the game to 25  but you have to win by two points and there are 3 hitters in the front row unless your setter is front row then you have 3 hitters and then there are 3 passers unless your setter is back row then you only have 2 passers but there is only six people on the court and you have to sub in for the same person each game and a libero only plays back row and doesn't serve

  4. GURL, YOU NEED TO JOIN A CLUB VOLLEYBALL TEAM. THEY HAVE SUMMER ONES AND SOME THAT START WHEN VOLLEYBALL SEASON ENDS.

TRY TO FIND ONE IN YOUR AREA .

    GOOD LUCK GIRL

  5. Okay, one thing at a time.

    Rotate:

If you start in left front, once you rotate you will move to middle front, then right front, then right back, then middle back, then left back, and back to left front.

    Points:

A game can either be 2 out of 3 games to 25 points or 3 out of 5 games to 25 points, depending on your school

    Positions:

Left front is an outside hitter

Middle front is a middle blocker

    Right front is a right-side hitter (usually a lefty) and/or a setter

    Right Back is serving

Middle back is usually the Libero

Left back also digs the ball

    Hope this helps!

  6. i recomend some books "volleyball steps to sucsess" theres 2 games to 25 in a match and if nessesary a game to 15
