Volleyball question please help!!!?

Question

I am a boy and play volleyball and our leage is making it manditory for us to wear spandex shorts because of a floor burn incident, he dove and got bad floor burn on his thigh, it got infected and it went into his bone so they had to cut his leg off, so they said we must wear spandex shorts to prevent this orelse we cant play, what is the best type, and please post a picture, i dont care if there mens or womens, its all the same

GUYS have to wear spandex?!?! what about that "Package" hanging out? do you just have to wear them under shorts right???
