  1. when i tried out i was nevous too so youre not the only one. one thing i know you should do is HUSTLE. thats always a good thing. at tryouts you might run alot too. the ball is not hard like a soccer ball unless it's brand new then it might be a little hard. but you'll get used to it. you should also push yourself. but not too much cause that might not end up good. but if you push your self enough, that'll look good to the coach. as for hitting(spiking) just try your best. if you make the team and still can't hit, ask the coach for a position that you don't have to hit. and setting just do your best at that too. you don't have to set alot unless you're setter. they set the most. just don't give up on something if you can't do it.  i can't serve and at tryouts i gave up on the serving towards the end i didn't make it. yeah i was sad, but i'm gonna work on it and try out next year. so yeah don't give up. and do as best you can.

    hope that helps!!! :)

  2. most tryouts are set up like practices. if you try hard you will make the team. my tryouts were last week so i know how you feel.  most balls are not very hard, and if you don't know how to do something just ask and listen to the coaches.  they can help.

    Good luck

  3. well first off the ball isnt that hard but at the velocity some players hit at it can sting a bit if you get hit in the face. volleyball is an easy sport as long as you work on your fundamentals and never ever hesitate during gameplay.

  4. the ball is actually a lot softer than a soccer ball. i believe it is smaller too. its also lighter so its easier to pass, set, hit, etc.

tryouts are basically where the coach runs a bunch of drills to see what you can and cant do, wat your strong points are, weak points, etc. the coach may have you do conditioning, but it depends on the coach. try outs can be 2-3 days, and from 2-4 hours. try outs are not that bad. i had tryouts today and i have em again tomorrow. the worst part is being nervous. so just dont be nervous. relax, and go out there and do your best!

    good luck!!! =]
