I'm going to try out for volleyball next year, and I can finally hit the ball far enough to go over the net. I've been practicing for 2 weeks now, around 2 hours a day, since there are 2 teams (not varsity, just different colors)and only one of them goes to state if they make it, and that's like"the good team" and I want to make that one, so I want some inspiration. tell me about how you enjoyed volleyball for my personal motivation. maybe you had a game where everyone in the stands were cheering for you.maybe you made great friends.maybe you had a great game you'll never forget. the one that miotivates me the most wins!!!

  1. In 2006 my team was the favorite in the section to make it to state we were seeded first. the first playoff game was easy as we played the number 8 seed, but we knew the next round would be tough. We were playing Greenway. we beat them once during season by the score of 33-31 so we knew it would be close. It turned out closer than we thought...

we were winning the first game 13-5. we were playing amazing, but I had a gut feeling that they werent gonna give up that easy. we ended up losing the fist game 23-25. we were shocked and it showed in the beginning of the next game we were down 1-7 but somehow tied it up at 14's. donw 14-15 it was my turn to serve and I rattled off 6 aces in a row. It was insane cuz im usually not that good of a server. I served the rest of the game and we won 25-15. Now the team was like ok we got this keep playing good. We did keep playing good, but they played better than they did in the last game and we lost 19-25. We knewwe had to win the next game it was do or die and we had to go to state it was our year. We won the fourth game 25-16. OUr momentum carried us into the fifth game which we won 15-5. we survived the 5 game match. We ended up winning our next 2 matches 3-1, and making it to state. that quarter final game is the game I will never forget I lead the team in kills, aces, digs and blocks. It was my Sophomore year. In 2007 our sections were rearranged and we got screwed over big time, but for the up coming season we re looking strong. Yes we have lost 7 people from that state team, but our team now is more bonded together. I cant wait for the next season!

Good luck with tryouts and your season!

  2. last year i played for the freshmen team at my school. i had some bad games but there were three that i will never forget. in one, i invited my teacher that i loved in eighth grade. it was the one game that we lost all season, but he still says that he remembers me flying down on the ground to save a ball that he thought no one would ever get. it makes me really happy just thinking that hed actually remember that. it was really important to me-that save.

another game the ball was so far off the court and it looked so impossible to get and i was all the way across the court but i sparinted as hard as i could and flung myself at it just so i could touch the ball and i did. i ran into the stands after i got it but i guess i hit it up enough for my teamates to get it back over the net so we could score!

on another day i was up at the net blocking and there was this huge girl. i mean she was HUGE! i had to block against her of course. she came up at one point and i jumped too and the ball came and i managed to block her! it was great. my first good block the whole season. when i got it i started jumping up and down and i could hear my bff shouting from the crowds "you did it lilly! you did it!" i guess i had a pretty dumbfounded look on my face and i canstill remember every moment. =]

  3. what motivates me to do my best in every game and practice is my coach. when ever i did something completely different than from what i usually do (for ex: if i made a really good spike approach) he would always come up to me at the end and give me a knuckle-punch, saying that he is proud of me! those words would always motivate me to try to be even better at the next game.

and last season was my first season EVER playing volleyball and i made the JV team. the day after one of our games, my coach gathered me and my teammates into a circle around him, and he conratulated me on my good play the other day and he gave me the game-ball!

every person has his/her own object of inspiration, and for me, it's my coach. i'm sure that once you find what motivates and inspires you to do YOUR best, you can make the team that you want to make. i wish you the best of luck! and remember, if you love doing what you do, it will be enough.

  4. i love volleyball because i'm good at it, obviously, and because my team wins. lol

i love my position (libaro) because no one else can play like i can

this sound hecka selfish, but thats the way i really feel about it
