  1. Listen to coaches and at first you wont play ,but their just trying to get you experiance so that you can be a leader your jr and senior year .Same thing happened to me I made varsity football as a freshmen didnt play at all, sophmore I played 2nd string quarterback, and now Im a jr starting every game, and have plenty of colleges looking at me.

-ps Make sure you have above a 3.5 gpa and your chances of a sholar ship rase tremendously.

  2. Though I made the varsity team as a freshman, I literally stepped onto the court a grand total of 30 minutes that entire season. I started for the JV team on top of the Varisty experience and it proved a really valuable learning experience. Keep playing club ball in addition to school and you will be getting quality playing time in the next year or so.

As for scholarships, it really depends on what division you aspire to play in. There is a big difference between Div I, I-AA, and Div III.

If your grades are impressive you will have a lot more doors open to you. I was a straight A student and got a full scholarship to Tulane Univ (Div I) Volleyball!

  3. sounds like youre good to go.

seriously, even an average hs varsity player should be able to play in college(whether at ncaa div i/div ii/div ii or even in naia or junior colleges.)

as long as youve been playing- you are prob. pretty good. Just continue to keep your grades up and play for clubs that help get your information out to colleges.

If you are interested in certain colleges go to their summer camps and go to their websites and request information about their programs. The summer camps will help you vastly improve your skills as well as get you noticed by the coaches.

dont freak out- youre a freshman. you have PLENTY of time.

i went to a club tournament last weekend where this girl was being recruited by two div i coaches. and her club coach was telling the college coaches that this girl was only in her second yr of playing volleyball! (hey- the coaches were talking right behind where i was sitting.lol)so if she can get recruited- so can you.just keep eating right, lifting, running, and studying and i see no reason why you shouldn't get a scholarship.

when you get older you should also start compiling game tape.

    good luck.

  4. You will play college......there are so many options out there for you.  The fact that your grades are good will be a big help in you deciding to go where YOU want to go.

If you are willing to move away from home then your chances increase even more.  If you want a list of schools that offer volleyball, here are their organizations.........

ncaa  (div I  -  div II  -  div III)

    naia

    nwaacc

    njcaa

in all about 500 or more schools to choose from.  You just need to find the right fit.  Your club coaches can be a big help in finding what is right for you.  Good Luck.

  5. Ok find out the schools you want to play for and e-mail them and tell them you would love to play with them!! Send them a video of you playing you can hire someone to do it if you don't want to do it yourself and just talk to tons of coaches not just one or two but  tons i've already got 25 colleges i'm talkin to and i'm a freshman too!! But don't make any promises to play for a team if you're not sure cause if you tell two coaches you'll play for them you'll get in huge trouble and they probably both won't give you a scholarship!!

  6. Here is a good site that helps you get recruited.

  7. I think you need to relax.  If you are a good student and a good volleyball player your chances of getting a scholarship are pretty good.  The important thing to realize is your grades need to stay up.  Volleyball will not always be there you could get hurt or something but if you have great grades you will always have that to fall back on.  Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!
