Volleyball setting help PLEASE!!!!!

Ok i've been playing volleyball for about 2 to 3 years and i've NEVER been good at setting its just not my thing but i know how to set a volleyball anyway when i was at pratice yesterday the coach told us to set the volleyball sideways and i have no idea how to do that and she didn't explain it well so does any1 know how to set a volleyball standing sideways from ur target?

  1. I take it you're not a setter?

    Like the others said, you're suppose to pivot, but you don't always have to. Sometimes you can't if the play isn't right.

    When setting a ball sideways, its just like normal setting except you want to turn your chest and arms to the side that you are setting (I know, kinda hard to understand). It's really not hard at all. I really don't know how to describe it unless I had a picture.

    You see how her arms are straight? All you would have to do then is turn your chest like i said before.

  2. your supposed to pivot. NEVER  try to set a ball sideways! what is your coach saying! this is what your supposed to do as the ball enters your hands you turn and pivot towards your hitter. then you push the ball out and end faceing the target
