Coaches play the most influential role in most sports. Teams flourish under their supervision and in the light of their advice. They set a direction for the players and get the best out of them. They are responsible to train and prepare the teams for big
challenges.
That is why a good coach is considered the vital key for the success of his team. In this regard, the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) is very keen to arrange various training facilities for coaches.
In recent memory, FIVB organized a Coaches Course in Dominican Republic.  The Level II Coaches Course welcomed 36 coaches from 21different countries. The course has been arranged at the FIVB Regional Development Centre in Dominican Republic. The main participants
of this course are the South American and Caribbean countries or other islands, which are associated with North & Central America and Caribbean Confederation (NORCECA).
The coaches from Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands, Haiti, Guatemala, Dutch St. Marteen, Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, United States of America, El Salvador, Honduras, St. Vincent, Costa Rica and Anguilla
have shown up at the scene.
This learning course officially started on Wednesday, 24th November, 2010. The 12-day course will be continued till December 6. The President of the Dominican Republic Olympic Committee, Mr. Luis Mejia Oviedo and Director of the FIVB Development
Centre, Mr. Nelson Ramirez attended the opening ceremony of Coaches Course.
Cuba’s Gilberto Herrera has been assigned as the FIVB Instructor at the course. Moreover, he is assisted by Alejandro Arconada of Argentine and Jorge Perez Vento of Cuba. The course has been sliced into different parts.
There are different training modules, which will be covered accordingly. This is a great opportunity for coaches to enhance their knowledge of the game and to specialize in their work. It will help them to learn the smart ways to obtain best output from
their teams. The FIVB is hopeful for success with this program.
