As it turns out, I haev found a volleyball team to play on! I would consider myself to be "good" at volleyball. I can do pretty much all of the drills and serves. I need to brush up on all of my maneuvers, but I REALLY need to tone up my legs and arms. Tryouts will be around August 25th, so I don't haev much time. What are good drills/exercises to do to help me be physically fit for volleyball?

  1. squats and calf raises will work for your legs.(you should see and feel results in about 3 days.) For you arms, you should do bicep curls and flies.

  2. in our team we run around the track until we die for our legs and for our arms we do push ups and for our fingers we do push ups but on our fingers not with our hands and we jump around the track on one foot and then we change legs but for me the thing that made my leg s and arms strong is that i used to play hand ball for 3 years but....how much hours do u spend? we spend 4 hours a day

  3. our coach has us do these SAQ's for Speed, Agility, and Quickness. If you have a medicine ball, throw it back and forth to  a partner, but go fast, so as soon as you catch with your forearms extended, the ball should push them back and you throw it right back. you can also do line drills, where you jump across a line forwards and backwards, and side to side. once you get good at that, then you can try do to them with one leg.

this exercises don't seem like much, but they really helped our team. good luck at tryouts!!

  4. Try jump roping with ankle weights & squats every day. I've been doing a bun & thighs workout, an ab & core workout, some cardio, and I jump rope every day for the past 2-3 weeks. I've seen some results. But it just takes time. If you want to become a setter, try doing some push ups for arm strength and squeezing a tennis ball or a stress ball for finger strength if you have very fragile fingers, like me.
