  1. Ace  is s team when you serve and score a point directly from the serve.  It is usually one hit or less by the other team after your serve.

Sideout is what your team wants when the other team is serving.  It means the serving team has lost the serve.  It can be any way from a missed serve to losing a long rally.

Kill is when the spiker (attacker) hits the ball over the net and it is not returned.  It does not have to be a spike.  It can be a tip or roll shot.

  2. "Ace" means your team served, and your opponent could not manage to hit the ball more than once and could not send it back to your side directly.

"Sideout" means your opponent served the ball, but you won the rally, so that you get one point and the right to serve.

"Kill" means your team fired a shot (or a mis-fire), and your opponent was not able to send the "live" ball back to your side.

  3. alright, so ace i would assume has reference to playing cards and card games, since it is when the served ball is not returned. sideout is when the team sides out, meaning the other team gets the point/ball. kill is like they had no chance at getting the ball, that your spike was unreturnable. i hope that helped.

  4. my team doesnt use those terms
