  1. since i have a tournment on saturday, what we are bringing is like everything!! we are bringing a cooler of gatorade, propel, coke( energy), red bull, pretzels, snacky food, candy and when we have our home games, some of the dads are BBQ andbonding befroe a game. those are just some suggestions. i hope i hepled!

  2. An ordinary sandwich will usually suffice. the tournaments i play in, we are usually there for 8 hours or so. During that time you will definitely want to eat something. For me, monster energy drinks usually give some good support as well. I also drink plenty of water, which I think is most important.

  3. I like a big pasta dinner the night before.  During the day I like to drink plenty of water.  I usually don't snack too much the day of the tournament and just eat a small sandwich during the day.

  4. depends on how long you have before the games start, if you have over 3 hours, a solid meal including lots of complex carbs (whole grain breads, veggies, fruits, lean meats) would be best, if you have less time, liquid meals would work, either protein or energy shakes or you could make your own fruit shakes.  Try and avoid caffeine and simple sugars (the ones in candy) and remember to hydrate up to 20 minutes before games.  You could also try the urine test (kinda awkward for girls) but if your urine is clear, than your good, otherwise, keep on hydrating.

  5. eat whatever you want, you shouldnt have to be to energized to play volleyball, heck you don't really need to be fit or in good condition.  sure you dive and stuff, but its really a position sport, like baseball.

  6. fruit- like bananas, apples,grapes,pineapple,etc.

    veggies- carrots,broccoli,etc.

    soft pretzel

    crackers w/ peanut butter

light sandwich- like turkey or ham on a bun w/ lettuce and/or cheese

protein bar- if you like them

    gatorade or water

don't drink pop or "energy" drinks

don't have anything greasy like pizza or mexican food.

personally I'll eat some candy or whatever because it doesn't bother me. but its not the best snack.
