  1. i'd like to echo the person who said it's up to the other individuals if they want to get better. if they do I'd say play tournaments. not necessarily as the 6-person team but break off everyone in pairs and enter some doubles or trips tournaments. doubles tourneys are great for ball anticipation as well as the basics, passing, serving setting. actual game play is the best practice as far as I'm concerned. and I dunno... make it kind of a goofy competition among your team. maybe at each tournament change partners so it's not just only a hard-nosed gotta-get-better thing, but also a friendly familiar include-everyone kind of thing.

    just my 2¢  :)

  2. Dont worry i know the feeling this year your just going to have to make do with what you have!

  3. haha. when i played volleyball on my high school team, we lost ALL of our games.

i suggest you tell your team in a cheering sort of way to be aggressive, move after the ball.

    Always wear a smile.

and remember that you're supposed to have fun.

oh and bonding is very important.

so have a pasta night at someone's house.

that's what we did. Even though we lost all of our games, we had the best times EVER.

i mean, there was hating, and drama, but at the end, it was cool.

  4. you should be calling the ball saying "got it" nice and loud so that the rest of the team can hear you. call all the balls and always be on your feet. there is this exercise called happy-feet that keeps you on your feet the whole time because that what you have to do in volleyball cause you have to be ready for anything and everything. happy  feet is basically ask either the coach  or captain to hold a volleyball and ask the girls to get in a line and the coach will move the ball in all directions and the team has to shuffle to that side or front or back and when the coach hits the ball the team is suppose to dive for the ball.

  5. There is really nothing you can do unless they want to put in the extra effort to get better.

Team bonding is a good start. Everyone will get closer and have more fun playing leading tem to want to improve.

Also, you could do more fun drills that work on playing as a team like scrimaging but pinpointing a specific skill.

I had a similar problem and it really sucks.
