Volleyball try outs?!!

alright.. so i have played volleyball for school for two years. all my friends who were on my team did summer camps and are alot better but i didn't, i also got out of shape.... i have only three weeks till try outs! what are some things that will help me get better at my serves and in shape. Btw i'm gonna be in eight grade/

  1. I'm a sophomore outside hitter and defensive specialist for my high school varsity team. To get in shape for the upcoming volleyball season I do a weightlifting program and cardio at my local gym. Try doing weights every other day. Focus on your triceps, biceps, glutes and hamstrings. On the days you are not doing weights, do some cardio. Try running, jogging, or my favorite, the elliptical machine. Make sure to stretch before and after any activity. Practice serving and hitting against a wall. If there are any camps or local clinics in your area that are still open, go to them. Also, if you can get private lessons/training that will help a lot. Also make sure to drink a lot of water and eat healthy. Good luck with try outs!


  2. volleyball believe it or not is a lot about stamina so first things first hit the gym do jump rope,step master,lift weights focusing on your legs,and do some running.  To help with your serves just go to a park that provides accurate volleyball nets and aim at a target not moving your feet but propel your body forward to maximize the accuracy. I was nervous to just like u but i ended up making the team .Don't worry if you start now three weeks will be a ton of time to get in shape.
