I feel comfortable in my spandex, but nobody at my school wears them, so I just go with gym shorts? I have the school team shirt, should I wear it or does that look presumpuous? What should I have for a snack or lunch that will give my a balance of energy and nutrition?

  1. I think you should wear the spandex if it makes you comfortable. There's nothing wrong with wearing your school team shirt if you like it.

You should eat a proper lunch (regular-sized, include vegetables and meat - unless you're vegetarian, and carbohydrates) and just eat SMALL snacks that have carbohydrates in them (for energy).

  2. Eat helathy foods, and nothing that will be too filling. Pasts is something good to eat the night before. I reccomend wearing something REALLY bright to draw attention to yourself, that is what our volleyball club director tells us. For a snack, again, eat something healthy and light and maybe a powerbar or something to get a boost of energy.

  3. stay away from soda

    eat a light breakfast

    pack a really good lunch

you should also where what you feel

  4. WEAR YOU SPANDEX ALSO DRINK ALOT OF GATORADE AND EAT WHAT YOU NORMALLY DO BUT NOT MAYO...

  5. Definitely wear your Spandex. You will feel more comfortable and look more professional. Wear your school colors, it shows you have experience and pride in your team. Drink some Gatorade/Water and some Power Bars and a banana. Bring Gatorade/Water to make sure you stay hydrated throughout tryouts.

  6. eat fruit and drink gatorade...wear a tank top or a shirt, and spandex

  7. WHAT YOU SHOULD EAT:

-chicken or red meat... perferably chicken

    -whole weat bread NOT WHITE

    -orange/apple juice

-rice or pasta (spaghetti gives you tons of carbs--energy to burn)

dont eat anything that is full of

SUGAR!!! they break down too fast and cause you to lack energy.

Dont be fooled by energy drinks, those are high in sugar. the only energy drink you should drink is apple or orange juice (NOT sunny delight//packed with lots of sugar. BAD BAD BAD)

Dont eat so much that you will be very full... eat a moderate amount because from experience i find it easier to jump higher and move faster if my stomach isnt full of junk.

    WHAT TO WEAR

it doesnt matter... wear spandex if you want to.

    spandex

    knee pads

loose shirt that youre comfortable in

good shoes with lots of traction.. perferably court shoes that are specially made for volleyball. MIZUNO//ASICS//and there are also some with a NIKE brand

    be prepared

  8. nutrigrain bar or energy bar and a poweraide/Gatorade

if you are comfortable in spankies :) wear them! they are more comfortable then gym shorts and no wearing your school shirt wont be bad.

  9. Eat:a normal meal 3 hours before you go(meat, bread, veggie, and a drink)then about 30 minutes before you go eat a fruit (apple, grape)

Wear-a volleyball ball shirt or a sports shirt, spandex, kneepads, and have your hair up

*MY DOCTOR SAID GATORADE WAS BAD FOR YOU AND I USED TO DRINK IT ALL THE TIME SO DONT DRINK IT

  10. Wear spandex, and a comfortable, loose t-shirt. Dont worry about how you look, worry about how you play. It doesn't matter how good you look if you dont make the team because your shirt was too tight, ex.

As for snacks, water and any light but nutritious foods. Try some sort of granola bar. NO energy drinks, pop or very sugery snacks! You WILL crash.

Good luck at making the team! :D

  11. THIS IS A BIG TIP!!! EAT A BANANAS AS MUCH AS SOME PEOPLE HATE EM, THEY ARE SO GOOD TO EAT AT TRYOUTS AND GAMES, THEY WILL GIVE YOU A BOUST OF ENERGY! THE REAL ENERGY THAT’S NOT IN A MONSTER. WHAT YOU SHOULD WERE IS YOUR SPANDX, IT WILL TELL COACHES YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY, AND YOUR NOT SOME WALK ON IN GYM SHORTS, WERE YOUR VOLLEYBALL T, AND WORK AS HARD AS YOUR HEART WILL FUNCTION!

  12. wear gym shorts and a t-shirt and then eat healthy but nothing super special...

  13. Eat healthy but you have to eat. And where what you are comfortale in. Wear a shirt that isn't big for you, it should be fiting.

  14. If you feel comfortable in your spandex, then wear them, you will play better, the more comfortable you are. Just wear any t-shirt, it doesn't matter, don't think about what everybody else thinks, you aren't there to impress them, only the coach. I would eat something like a sandwhich and an apple and some milk. Some carbs, fruit, but nothing too heavy because you will be doing a lot of jumping. Good Luck!! No gatorade, it is full of sugar, just drink lots of water.
