Volleyball tryouts? I made A team last year?

Question

I have improved greatly from last years playing, and now i have a killer jumpserve. But a lot of people don't think ill make A team again this year? And i don't know why?? I'll post additional details as you need them. Im in the 8th grade, and am only 5 foot, but can go about four inches over the net. Why doesn't anybody think i'll make A team??

maybe cuz they are jealous? Just go for it, work on improveing your skills and don't care what others think.

You sound like a really good volleyball player, so those people are either jealous, don't know what they're talking about, or they don't have faith in you.

What you have (VB skills) is what most 8th graders lack, so just have self-confidence and give it all ya got.

if you can't pass or set well that might be a problem.

Or maybe they are just jealous.

I'd work extra hard to make the team and show the doubters how good you are, because you sound pretty good to me.

maybe your attitude is really sucky.

maybe you act too conceited or something.

are there other (taller) players on the team that are good at passing and setting? It doesnt matter if you can get above the net by 4 ins if you don't block very well( if you play front row) or if its no good b/c your team can't pass or set that high so you can hit the ball.

plus I've never heard of an 8th grader w/ a KILLER jumpserve. do you live in cali or something? b/c i rarely even see highschoolers or Div. 2/3 players jumpserve where i live.
